The battery charger for this scooter is available from:

http://www.monsterscooterparts.com/

I believe the original equipment charger from Invacare for this scooter was a 3 Amp off board or on-board charger. The charger is no longer available from Invacare. Monster scooter parts shows this as a 2 Amp charger for the Lynx.
It would be more expensive to repair this charger than to replace it since you indicate it failed after a storm power surge. You will be happier by replacing the off-board or on-board charger for a price between $50 and $150. The only cost effective charger repair is the cord or plugs.
If the charger was plugged in during the storm, I would check the power path on the scooter for burnt fuses and wiring. Hope this helps.

Charger seems to have both red and green lites flashing at the same time no sequence and both batteries connected read 4.0 VDC, are these chargers repariable or throw aways

Your manual is here. The section on charging states, that green blinking means your battery is fully charged but blinking red means that your charger is faulty. I would say repairable.

1. Plug the female connector of the AC power cord (supplied) to the AC receptacle on the charger and plug in the male connector on the AC power cord into the wall outlet.

2. The On/Off LED indicator is blinking RED, this is abnormal. Unplug AC power cord from the on-board battery charger and wall outlet. Charger may need to be replaced. Contact an Invacare dealer or qualified technician.

3. When the On/Off LED indicator light is Off, charger is Off.

4. When the Charge LED indicator light is YELLOW, the batteries are charging.

5. When the Charge LED indicator light is solid GREEN, the batteries are fully charged (as their condition will allow).

6. When charging is complete, unplug the male connector of the AC power cord from the wall outlet and then unplug the female connector of the AC power cord from the AC receptacle on the charger.

After receiving this particular chair I had surgery and was not able to operate chair with my hand. The batteries were brand new and fully charged at the time but now have sit for almost a year. Now that I...

imwaltz Sorry buddy but if it sat that long the batteries are probably too low for the charger to pick up and charge. to bad you didn't just charge those batteries once a month while you were laid up. You will have to get new batteries. If Medicare paid for your chair they will pay for most of the repair costs. Contact Repair Xpress @ 1-877-581-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 these are 2 excellent service companies that will bill Medicare for repair and have a tech repair the chair for you. Hope this helps

My question is related to an Invacare-Nutron R51.Production date 1-7-03,joystick[MKIV R11] flashes red 1 time, than green 5 times repeatedly? Can you please tell me what this means.?

Ranch well the red flash indicates a low battery and the 5 flashes indicate a bad left brake. Now try charging the batteries until you get a green light on your charger then turn on the chair it shouldn't flash the red if the batteries are accepting the charge. If your batteries are 2-3 years old it could be time to change them. If Medicare paid for your chair then they will pay most of the repair costs. You can contact your provider for help or a service company like Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 or Repair Xpress @ 1-877-581-3733. If Medicare did buy the chair then you are eligible for a new chair every 5 years and yours is almost 8 years old. Contact a local provider that you trust to check into getting you a new chair. Hope this helps you

The battery will not hold a charge for very long does this mean the batteries are bad

Bronnaf Well probably. How old are the batteries? If they are 2 years old or older yes I would say they are bad. If you have not any problems before and then I'll assume the charger has been working and still getting a full charge but the lights fall off quicker than before Yes you need new batteries. Now Did Medicare pay for your chair? If they did then they will pay most of the repair costs. You can contact a repair service and they will fix your chair then bill Medicare You would have to pay any deductible that Medicare doesn't pay. Contact Repair Xpress @ 1-877-581-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668ou

The charger is blinking green indicating that the output is not connected but I cannot see any disconnected wires

The disconnected wire may be inside the junction box inside the motor assembly, or on the leads connected to the battery and fuses. If all of those check OK, contact Invacare for service. If your insurance purchased the power chair for you, they will most likely cover the cost of any repairs.
Good luck!

Ya i have one of them wheelchair it ran great till the battery not charge good then i notice the right side it was leeking red fluid i ask the place i got it from they say get ride of it cause im ready for...

Well if Medicare purchased your chair and it is 5 years or older you are eligible for a new chair. The problem with your chair besides batteries is a leaking plug on your gearbox attached to the motor. These cannot be fixed so it requires a new motor/gearbox assembly. Just as soon get a new chair because Medicare won't want to pay the costs of repair when you can get another chair. Hope this helps

My invacare pronto m51 wheelchair does not turn on. we just had the battery replaced. when it is plugged in the battery lights turn on and when you unplug it they do not even turn on.

Did you replace both batteries? How old is the chair? Sometimes the on-off keypad becomes worn and does not make contact with the on-off switch. When charging the joystick lights can light up but after unplugging they should remain on. When you plug in the charger look under the rear cover at the charger you should see 2 lights, one red and one yellow to indicate that you are charging the chair if you do not see both lights lit then the charger is bad or has a blown fuse. Only a Tech will be able to tell what is wrong. If Medicare purchased your chair then they will pay for most of repair costs. Contact your provider or a repair service company
