Guys I managed to fix the problem myself by opening up the unit and remounting the floating disc that holds the dvd/cd's in place during play.

DVD stuck in my Yamaha DVD-c6761 DVD/CD player. How do I get it out so my player will open and work properly again.

Unbend a paper clip.Look very closely at the area around the CD/DVD drive door until you find a really small hole - it almost looks like an accident (probably just below the door). Insert the paper clip in the hole (don't be afraid). Push the paper clip gently to press the spring-loaded latch.Your CD/DVD tray should open right up. That's it. Deals Prices

Good evening. I have a Thomson DTH 5000 I am unable to retrieve a dvd from it as the drawer appears to be stuck!! any ideas as to how to sort out this problem. Many thanksja

Take the cover off the device, and look for anything blocking the DVD tray. If nothing can be seen, remove DVD by hand, and try manually pushing open the tray after pressing the open button.

CAUTION: Once the tray moves, get your fingers out of there FAST! The tray might not be able to cut you, but it will hurt like no other if your fingers get stuck in there!

Once the tray is open, push the open button a few times to open and close the tray. This will loosen any debris that may have blocked it. If it still won't move, then the motor has gone out or been disconnected. Have someone with experience working with electronic circuit boards take a look at it to determine the problem.

Hope that helps!

Have a dvd stuck in the unit. door will not open.

Your going to need to open this u if the door will not open and manually take the dis out by hand, now if you feel you cannot do that then your going to need a tech shop locally do it for you. But its easy you just pop off the screws the cover should slide oven you localte and take the disk out. now once your in there you can see if there was any damage 9 times out of 10 the disc got miss feed.

Good luck if you have any additional questions let me know otherwise please leave your positive feedbakc and ratings.

The disk tray won't open. There is a dvd in the tray and I played it back but, when I tried to eject it, the tray door would not open.

check if something is blocking the door to open.if no then the gears in the internal area are either worn out.apply the oily substance in the sides of the dvd gears to make it move frequently.

Drive light gets stuck on at reboot

Try swapping the Jumper block ( Small plastic pin connector ) on The Back Of the DVD Drive. If using both Hard-Drive And DVD Drive on the Same IDE Cable. The DVD Should be set as Master And Hard-Drive As Slave, Or Vice versa.
Failing This, put The Hard Drive On Primary IDE Channel, And DVD On Secondary Channel.
These suggestions, have been made as it appears from your problem listed, that the 2 drives Are Conflicting with each Other.
Finally, is to try a different 4 pin ( Molex ) power cable to either device/Drive. if you have a single rail Power supply unit. the 2 units sharing a joint power cable, may be draining the PSU.

Hope this helps.

The DV-S5450 may use a belt-loading mechanism. The belt is typically black rubber band with a diameter of approximately 2 cm. It is commonly found in front-loading CDROMs for computers also. Often, as a result of age, usage, humidity, etc the belt snaps, rendering the loading impossible. The loading motor doesn't just pop the tray in or out. It also engages a clutch assembly that raises an inserted disk or lowers a disk to be ejected; this explains why you can't simply force out the tray. Clearly in your case all the electronic signals are there and the loading motor does turn.

Solution: switch off and unplug the unit and then open it up. Do a quick inspection to see if you can locate the broken rubber band. If you can, remove it and take it along with you to the nearest repair shop for exact replacement. If you are finicky around technical work, simply a competent person do it for you. Good luck.
