You will need to purchase an HDMI cable then plug it into your laptop and then plug it into a HDMI compatible TV. Then from there you will go to your display properties and enable the screen. Any OS should be compilable :)

    Right
click on your desktop and hit personalize, then scroll down and go to
display settings. If There is two boxes. one With 1 in it and two with 2
in it then you may just have to enable it. My laptop has a shortcut for
it you have to hit fn then the f6 key at the same time to enable a
    second monitor :)

  • dirtlover661 Dec 30, 2010

i think for your laptop is fn + F8 key to enable the TV as a secondary monitor :)

  • dirtlover661 Dec 30, 2010

Here is a screen shot of my system with using hdmi. Mine is set up using hdmi as the main monitor and my laptop screen as secondary. I got to these setting by right clicking on the desktop backround and hitting personalize then a window cam up and in that window I clicked display settings :)

  • dirtlover661 Dec 30, 2010

Usually laptops have a key on it so that the hdmi will work as a second output. Like my computer has a f6 key that says HDMI right below it. So what your do is hit the fn key and then you hit the key that says HDMI or has like a little picture of two monitors :)

HDMI [High Definition Multimedia Interface]. VGA [Video Graphics Array]. AV [Audio Video]. By these definitions itself talk to you about the inputs your TV have; and it do not support VGA. Output from PC is VGA. Without a VGA input with the TV, you can't connect the PC to TV. I think I'm clear. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

blue screen means no video signal, if the source is on hdmi ensure the cable is rca or in simple audio video jacks which u will have to connect in the dvi input of the tv reason is hdmi means high definition interface and transmits by hdcp like the data of an internet meaning its digital platform which the tv can only process thru the dvi inputs or component y,p,b

How to i connect my laptop into television with high definition multimedia interface

Hi,

First what you need is a HDMI cable.

anespera_12.jpg

Second look for HDMI port at the side of your laptop. (It may not be the model of your laptop.)

anespera_13.jpg

Third look for the HDMI port on you T.V. (It may not also the model of your T.V.)

anespera_14.jpg

After confirming those connection on your T.V. and Laptop, you can just the HDMI cable to connect you Laptop to T.V. Also you need to choose HDMI on your T.V. settings and for your Laptop you can just switch the display by pressing FN+F4 or F5.

Hope It helps.

I am looking to purchase a new Dell computer. In

HDMI is digital and uncompressed signal while the above mentioned interfaces are analog. A digital source is translated into less precise analog signal in an analog interface. After that signal is sent to the television and then converted back into digital signal to display on screen. Due to this, some distortion of picture quality is caused at each translation. HDMI removes the analog conversion and preserves original signal and delivers richest, sharpest picture. Separate audio signals are required by other video interfaces. Due to large amount of bandwidth available in HDMI, it not only transmits video but audio channels up to eight digital audio channels can also be transmitted through HDMI. The entire process becomes simple because a number of wires are replaced by a single wire. It also delivers much better performance.
The HDMI “Type B” have 29 wires while standard HDMI or “Type A” has 19 wires. Motion picture industry and other professional applications use “Type B” HDMI wires. HDMI enabled components talk to each other via an interface that is why it is also called Intelligent HDMI. All-in-one functionality of remote and other interoperable features are provided by HDMI but not by other technologies.
High-Definition and enhanced video and other standard formats are supported by HDMI. Backward compatibility with DVI (Digital Video Interface) is also supported. DVI/HDMI cable can be used to connect HDMI interface in high-end graphic cards that have DVI port. DVI/HDMI cable has HDMI connector at one end and DVI connector at the other. Another point to note is that degradation of signal can occur if the length of the HDMI cable exceeds 5 meters (15 feet).
At least one HDMI interface was provided in many high-end televisions since 2005. Two HDMI interfaces provides more flexibility and three might be better in cases where one wants to connect a game console. As the TV industry installs HDMI interfaces into more peripheral components, multiple interfaces will become common on TVs.

It is good to have it.

Please rate me if this solution works for you

Thanks......Have a great time.

How to Connect HDMI Components with AVR 3805 as Hub

In reference to the comment you added to our chat session:

Just connect your receiver to your TV using the same cable your receiver is currently using to connect to your TV, be it Composite, S-Video, or Component. Just switch your TV to that input when you need to set-up something on the receiver.
