It is showing a F8 in the window. Any ideas how to reset? It started when I tried to clean the oven. I have turned off the power but it did not reset. Thanks.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F8 error refers to failed clock assembly/ electronic control board and replacing it is recommended repair. You can try to take it apart and then blow some compressed air on this electronic board, if the problem returns then the board needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I have a frigidaire wall oven which was on bake accidently hit clean and immediately hit cancel. Sounds like fan running and started beeping and F8 appeared. Turned off breaker and turned back on same

Hello - Typically error code F8 indicates that there is a communication error between the user interface and the control board. Try resetting the range by unplugging it or flipping the breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes. If it proves to be ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately.

Self cleaning oven won't start

Hi bstetson328 - Try resetting the range by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately 30 seconds and turn on the unit. Select the self clean option, if it does not turn on then the temperature had tripped the internal sensor of the unit and needs to be reset. This usually has to be done by a professional since the back panel needs to be taken off and the power reset inside. Possibly the unit may have a communication problem with the EOC and I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

Kenmore Gas oven is giving F8 error code

Unfortunately the F8 usually means an EEPROM data shift error. Try turning the power on and off several times. If error continues, you have no choice but to replace the ERC. Check on line for the best price. There is a group in the Chicago area that repairs ERCs. Check them out at www.cgiltd.com The failure of the your power system may have been associated with a surge either as the power went off or when it came back on. It may have been the surge that did the damage.
