Question about FROM Software Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe for Xbox 360

Open Question

GAME WILL NOT LOAD. THE XBOX TRIES TO READ IT AND IT JUST SPITS IT BACK OUT. I HAVE A 4 GB HARD DRIVE. THE SYSTEM IS BRAND NEW AND SO IS THE GAME. THE SYSTEM PLAYS EVERY OTHER GAME FINE. I HAVE ALSO PURCHASED ANOTHER GAME JUST LIKE IT TO SEE IF IT IS THE GAME AND IT DOESN'T WORK EITHER. ALTHOUGH I HAVE MADE IT WORK ON ANOTHER XBOX SYSTEM. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS WRONG? I AM THINKING I HAVE A BAD XBOX, OR POSSIBLY THAT THERE ISN'T ENOUGH MEMORY ON MY SYSTEM.

SOURCE: every time i play this game it always freezing but when i play my other games they work fine

if its at the same spot all the time then u av a corrupt disc. the only choice you have is to take it back to the shop and exchange for another one. you could also contact the developers and they will sometimes send another disc to you but you have to send the old one back. check on the back of the box for details. if its in a cut scene you can sometimes cancel cut scene and it will be fine.

Try playing discs without the hard drive in:

Press the release button on the hard drive and lift the hard drive from the console.

Tip

Xbox help for "Can read CD but NOT DVD."

Step 1: Inspect and clean your disc Take a close look at the bottom side of your game, movie, or music disc (the side without a label or image). Are there scratches? Excessive scratches or smudges can prevent your console from reading the disc. Clean your disc 1. Hold the disc by the edges without touching the top or bottom surfaces. 2. Using a soft, clean, slightly damp cloth, lightly wipe from the center of the disc outward. Note Do not use solvents to clean the disc. 3. Once the disc is clean, load the disc into your console and see if the disc plays. If the disc still does not play, try step 2. Step 2: Try other discs Try other discs to determine whether the problem happens with any disc or only with this particular disc. If multiple game discs, DVDs, or CDs will not play: 1. Make sure the media type and the disc region code are compatible with the console. 2. If the problem happens with several discs of different types (games, DVDs, and CDs), skip to “Step 7: Request a repair” below. If a specific game disc will not play: 1. Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base to determine if the game title has any known problems. 2. Make sure the media type and the disc region code are compatible with the console. If the disc you are using has a region code that is compatible with your console but you still cannot play the disc, try step 3. Step 3: Clear your system cache If your Xbox 360 console can’t play multiple game discs, try clearing your system cache. Here’s how: 1. On the console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings. 2. Select Memory. 3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller. 4. Select Clear System Cache.
Note If Clear System Cache is not available, use the button sequence described in the following article: 971755 How to clear the Xbox 360 console cache 5. Try to play a game disc. If you still can’t play a game disc, try step 4. Step 4: Remove the hard drive If the problem only happens with game discs, let’s try temporarily removing your hard drive. If your Xbox 360 console does not have a hard drive, skip to step 5. 1. Turn off your console. 2. Locate the hard drive on your console. 3. Press the release button on the hard drive and lift the hard drive from the console. 4. Turn on your console. 5. Try to play a game disc.If this step resolves the problem, reattach the hard drive and contact Xbox support to order a replacement hard drive. If this step resolves the problem, reattach the hard drive and contact Xbox support to order a replacement hard drive. If you still can’t play game discs, try step 5. Step 5: Disconnect memory units 1. Turn off your console. 2. Unplug any memory units attached to your console. 3. Turn on your console. 4. Try playing a game. If this step resolves the problem, reattach the memory units and contact Xbox support to order a replacement memory unit.

How can I get this device to read on an xbox 360?

Step 1: Connect your hard drive to your PC.
Step 2: Create a FAT32 partition on your hard drive. If you’re using less than 32 GB, you can use Windows via “Control panel > Administrative tools > Computer Management”. If you’re using more than 32 GB, you’ll have to use an external program, e.g. Partition Magic.
Step 3: Load all the content you want from your PC onto the external drive. This should consist of files that can be read on the Xbox hard drive.
Step 4: Remove the external hard drive from your PC. Plug it into your Xbox 360 console through the USB port.
Step 5: Go to the Media menu on your Xbox screen. Select "Portable Device" from the menu. All the readable files saved on the external drive should be available to read on your Xbox 360.
N.B. Xbox's connection with an external drive is read-only. You can only read files that are already on the drive after connecting. You can't save game files or anything else on the Xbox main drive onto the external hard drive. Also, USB storage devices cannot be used for Xbox live marketplace content.

Won't read any game discs or dvd's.

First remove your hard drive and try to play a game without it, reattatch your hard drive and see how you get on.
second let your console cool down this happens sometimes when the console overheats.
Third it could be the laser in the dvd drive,if this is the case it will need stripping down and either adjusting or replaceing.
let us know if this solution worked for you.

Console sticking when loading

Hello.

The reason for this issue might be that there are some corrupt files on the harddisk/memory unit that the game has stored on them, try to load the game without having the harddrive/ memory unit attached.
If this works you will have to perform maintenance on the harddrive/memory unit, you can do that in the system tab on the Dashboard.

Another reason might be that your consoles DVD-drive laser is getting weak/ was defective from the beginning since the console is quite new, this is a well-known problem.

If it is really only this single game that the console doesnt read you can rule that out but if your DVD-Drive should be defective it will have to be repaired.
Just call Xbox support they will replace the DVD-Drive with a new one as it is still covered by the warranty.

Kind Regards,
