Question about AOpen 19" LCD

AOPEN LCD monitor

Hello,

My desktop's LCD monitor goes off and makes a clicking noise and the power light blinks amber. Sometimes it displays but it seems like now it won't come on at all. I took it apart but I can't visually see anything wrong.

Thank you,

Chuck

Monitor won't come on. Makes clicking noise. Light is green.

Same problem, I'm using the VGA cable (Not the DVI). It appears to happen when the computer sends the sleep mode signal to the monitor, the monitor will not snap out of the sleep mode.

Another interesting problem is the power switch. Even though I press it, 9 out of 10 times it does not turn off.

I've discovered if you plug this monitor in as a secondary monitor and in Windows you attach/unattach the screen a number of times it will eventually come back. It is taking longer and longer for it to come back though. Anyone got a permanent fix?

Hi
If you switch on your screen it just goes dead again. If this is the case then all you have to do is replace your backlights of your lcd. The backlight are florescent tubes Which are gas filled and they have a lifespan of plus/minus two to five years. Once the gas is depleted the backlights try to go on then switches off

This problem occurs alot on all different lcd screens eg. ibm, gigabye and alot of other name brands and even the cheapies. the backlights come in different lengths so you have to open your screen and remove them carefully so that you dont damage or crack the liquid crystal. i have been repairing lcd screens for a while and this is the problem most of the time. This also affects your power supply as the backlights sometimes arc inside and causes the power supply to act funny the reason for power light flashing
You can order the backlights from RS components. They supply and sell backlights if you wish to do it yourself
Glad to be of any assistance

My monitor no display and light is blinking

Hi,
if the monitor light is blinking this suggests that, there is no display signal coming from the tower. This could be because of the following .

1. Bad video card 2. Bad video software

To check, where the problem is , power of the system tower and remove the power cord from the back of the tower. Press and hold the power buttoon for 10 seconds and the reconnect the power cord and turn the tower on. Check if there is any display or the status of the light changes from amber to green for even a small instance.

If the light changes to green and back to amber the video port on the tower is bad

Alternatively you can connect the monitor to another desktop or laptop to check if the same is working correctly.

Thanks for using fixya

The on/off of pc monitor (LCD) is blinking.

Most LCD monitor (depends on the brand) power indicator light will either turn from Green to Amber, or flashing Amber, or flashing green, when it does not detect video signal feeding it. So it may be normal with your monitor. Are you haivng problem with the display? If it displays he pictue OK then there is nothing to worry about.

I have an Acer AL1912 that when you plug in the ac, the green power light will blink for about a minute and a half then go solid. The backlight will come on and you can see a faint ghost of vertical lines...

If it is still in warranty call the manufacturer.
if not give more info elah4@zoominternet.net. May be somthing simple like a cable
shutdown computer unplug then disconnect the video cable on the computer from the monitor, plug monitor back in and turn it on, there should be a display that says no video source within a few seconds, if unit is working properly. shutdown and connect video again and then reboot computer. sometimes it just takes a compleat power disconect to reset things,

Monitor : no display and blue led light is blinking

The power supply is the first thing that the 110v electric line goes into. The invertor is the next item past the power supply, or sometimes contained within it. I do not thing monitors are a DIY repair.      First substitute a different monitor to confirm that it is, in deed , the monitor and not the video card.

Green Power light blinking

Check the resolution in the Windows while connected to the old monitor. If greater than 1280 X 1024 and/or the refresh rate exceeds 75 Hz, the monitor may not respond. But you should at least see the BIOS splash when the computer is turned on. If that does not appear, maybe a problem has occurred in the monitor. Another indicator: if you turn the monitor power button off and then back on, you should get some sign of life such as "no signal", or "out of range". If nothing appears, that would indicate some problem within the monitor.

If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!

Flashing green power light - Black screen

I had the same problem with an AOPEN 17' lcd that was left behind at a rental property... I plugged it into my dell dimmension 4400 in place of my old analog. It worked fine the fist night, and got up and when turned it on again it had the famed green blinking power light. I switched back to the analog, and just disappointed I plugged in the AOPEN to another power source, and power came on a steady red light. I plugged it back into the puta and it came on again. I have not turned the monitor off again for fear of the blinks, and has been working great for close to a week now. Hope it helps someone else out there. Richard

Sounds like a problem in the monitor's power supply. This will need component-level troubleshooting.
