  • jolocke Dec 30, 2010

    hi,

yes the model # is HTS3566D/37

there is no error message on the home theater system.

the display says "OPEN" when the eject button is pressed. The unit definitely is trying to open the door. I can hear the motor going.

I unplugged the unit for a minute and it will not open.

    thanks

ok, I manually got the door open, however, the dvd that I know was in the machine is not in the tray?

How do I get it out?

If you press Eject button on remote or unit, do you see eject/ open in front display?
Does unit try to eject disc tray? do you hear any mechanical sound inside unit that mechanism is getting ready to eject disc tray?
Unplug unit from wall socket for minute to get it reset, replug back in and turn it On and press Eject.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for info,
Turn unit up side down and look for slot on bottom to manually reject disc tray as shown in below image.
Slot would be located near front of unit.

Now put unit in normal position, pull disc tray completely as ejects in normal way to see dvd disc. If disc still not found then take off top cover of unit to see where that disc got stuck and take it out.
    Thanks.

How do I get my house dvd tray open it stuck and not dvd or cd is in it.

First attempt is to turn off the DVD Player, unplug the DVD player power cord from the electric supply, wait about 5 minutes, plug back the power cord, turn on the DVD player, press the open/close button.

If this does not work, the DVD player cover will have to be removed and the tray manually operated to determine the cause for it not being opened electronically. This might require the services of a technician.

Philips HTS3410D home theatre system. DVD is stuck inside - won't play, won't open. any ideas?

Power off the system
Unplug the power cord
Wait 5 minutes
Plug back the power cord
Power up the system
Press the open/close button
Load a DVD and play

If the tray still will not open, the cover will have to be removed and manually operated. You may have to have a technician look at the unit.
