Question about Pioneer Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

My Pioneer PL-220 turntable was spinning too fast after I took it apart and put it back together. Upon re-opening it I found the two trimmer pots that access through the top of the table (under the platter) to have been broken (by me using too much force, I am sure, when screwdriving them). Also, a nearby pawn shop said there may have been a magnet(?) that might have come loose from the turntable that helps the speed control. Is this something you know about? Great help is appreciated! Thanks!

No phono inputs?? You will need a phono to line level preamp to use aux input.

SOURCE: motor for pioneer Pl 120 turntable

Start with eBay, craigslist.org, perhaps local Goodwill store. It might be easier to just by another turntable that is not in fantastic shape but has a working motor...then swap.

If you receiver doesn't have phono inputs, you will need to buy an inline phono amplifier.Phono inputs have a built in amplifier, all others don't.Try Crutchfield.com.If they don't carry them, they will tell you who does.

I'm guessing that the belt is too large (stretched). Normally it should be small enough to stay on the platter itself. Install the platter and place the belt around the motor hub (white plastic), If the belt is too loose, it will just sit and not turn the platter. Try a new belt first as that is the least expensive option to try.

Keep us posted.

Try changing out the capacitor on the underside of the platter. They will lose their rated value over time.......
The schematic shows a 1000 volt rating. I have three that I am referbing and all of them came from Pioneer with a 450 volt CAP.
Try replace it with one that is rated at least 450 volts.
Also - the closer the tolerance the better. See if you can find one that has a K rating, meaning it is +- 10%. The M rated ones are +-20%.

Pioneer media receiver pdpro6u shut off and won't turn on,now there is a blinking blue light

Check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output stage circuit. An IC short or like that can cause this fault. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here. How do I open a UC-280 2.0CH USB Powered speaker system to reconnect the broken cable.

Once you open the speaker it will destroy the acoustic properties and make the speaker useless. The speakers are assembled with takp and glue and have to be pried apart.

Sound problem with JBL Creature II

I had a problem with the speakers not working properly. The green lights lit, but the amount of sound coming from the speakers compared to that of the sub was much lower.
I decided to take it the speakers apart.
I found that the magnets on the speakers had moved forward slightly in the plastic cage they sat in. I pushed them back as far as they would go, and Hey Presto! working again!
I hope this helps someone!
