My Bosch dishwasher won't start. All of the buttons on the panel are dead. I've checked the breaker box & it has power going to it, but it acts as though the breaker has tripped.

SOURCE: dishwasher is "tripping" the breaker & not draining.

I had the same problem with a Hobart AM8 passthru dishwasher. The electrician determined that some of the wires had become exposed and were wet, thus shorting things out and tripping the breaker.

SOURCE: Bosch dishwasher SHE44CO2UC/22 no power or light

Hi sir,
first thing to say is that whether it may be an short circuit between circuits,,or due to an over voltage the fuse may be burnt,,please check the control panel..back of dishwasher,,,
if u checked fuse and circuit,,and think no problem with incoming voltage ,,the control panel's capacitors or resistors may be burnt..
if so please go to a tech,,,,,
thank u,,,for using fixya

SOURCE: Bosch Dishwasher will not power on

I have a bosch dishwasher model 2046. When you try start the cycle you hear the timer inside start to activate but the cycle doesn't start. The light in the start switch does not come on as well but I think it may be burned out. We have checked the breaker and I seems to have power.

Since you have power to the dishwasher, check to see if there is a push button reset, there could also be a fuse blown.

I have a shu43 bosch dishwasher and the whole machine is dead. No power. The circuit breaker is good but I would have to pull the dishwaher out to check the outlet. Is there an internal fuse?

There is no internal fuse (at least I've not seen or replaced any) on Bosch dishwashers. The most typical problems for Bosch are: 1) one of the power cord connections to the internal wiring is corroded and doesn't make a contact; or 2) the power button has failed.

The number one is so far the most common problem. To check: Turn off the power to the dishwasher by any means necessary. Remove the kick panel on the bottom. There should be a small metal box with power cord and 2 or 3 wires coming into it. Remove screw(s) holding the cover on that box. There should be 2 or 3 wires connected to the power cord wires by wire nuts. Any burnt insulation or wire nut will be the problem area. Cut burnt wires, remove 1/2" of insulation and clean of both connecting wires to bare copper. If you have an electrical contact grease - apply to copper. Install new wire nut.

Good luck,

Bosch Dishwasher SHE66C06UC is DEAD. Push Power Button and nothing happens? We did have a power outage just before this happened. I cannot find a fuse. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your post it may just be a loose/burnt connection in the dishwasher junction box or a severed wire in the door panel.

** I would start by first shutting off the breaker...safety first**

Then removing the kick plate ( access panel at the bottom )...

macmarkus_133.jpg

...and checking the wiring at the junction box for the dishwasher 120vac supply line.

Remove the murret's and visually inspect the wire for "resistance burn" and strip the wires back and install new fastener's if necessary to repair.

i.e.

60f6a31.jpg

This is actually quite common to find a wire connector come loose due to improper fastening and once the unit is in use for a while the connections heat & cool, become loose from normal operating vibrations and burn up from all the added heat caused by "resistance".

Typically this will manifest in just the manner you've described.

If it looks OK there I'd remove the outer door panel ( careful the edges are sharp ) via the six #20 torx head screws...

macmarkus_168.jpg

...check for a severed wire at the pivot point in the door, typically covered in a plastic casing as shown here..
.

macmarkus_169.jpg

The small plastic blocks which may be present in the bottom corners of the door panel, i.e.

macmarkus_170.jpg
...they can be a pain to re-install, but they do only go in one way, however it is ok to leave them out...their only purpose is to strengthen the structure.

Ultimately it could be the main power switch is cooked, but I'd certainly check what I've suggested first and go forward from there. Good luck.

Let me know what you find and I'll try to assist you further if necessary. Thank you for choosing FixYa today for your inquiry.

Hello

Welcome to Fixya.

Based on your post,"...Even when the dishwasher is off I cannot reset the breaker unless I kind of move the machine around a bit. Sometimes it pops the breaker just closing the door..."

These are the most common reason for these Bosch dishwashers not having power.

#1

I would start by first shutting off the breaker. Then removing the kick plate ( access panel at the bottom ) and checking the wiring at the junction box for the dishwasher 120vac supply line.

Remove the murret's and visually inspect the wire for "resistance burn" and strip the wires back and install new fastener's if necessary to repair.

A wire severed inside the door panel, hence the breaker trips by just moving the door in an open/close motion.

Check thoroughly in this location...

The end result is tripping the breaker and no power to the controls.

DISHWASHER COMPLETELY DEAD

Hi John, and welcome to Fixya. I don't believe the greasy water sitting in the machine has anything to do with the problem, rather it is likely a by-product of the problem. My Bosch dishwasher, model SHE46C, will not start. The circuit breaker is not tripped. Once in a while when the start button is pushed, it does sound like a pump is coming on and then it stop. Any ideas...

Hi D. McKinney and welcome to Fixya. The problem could be a a simple one like a poor connection at the dishwasher junction box. Based on your discription that's what I'd suspect. Having said that I would start by first shutting off the breaker. Then removing the kick plate ( access panel at the bottom ) and checking the wiring at the junction box for the dishwasher 120vac supply line. This is actually quite common to find a wire connector come loose due to improper fastening and once the unit is in use for a while the connections heat & cool, become loose from normal operating vibrations and burn up from all the added heat caused by "resistance". Bosch Dishwasher will not power on

I saw my repair man do the following, which you might try...
Open the door and simultaneously press & hold down the power button with the 2 buttons used on your model to "Cancel & Drain." If the unit comes on it now is in self-diagnosis mode. Release the buttons and close the door. The unit should start to fill with water. Press the power button to exit the mode.
