Question about Fujitsu Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I am an electrician tha wired a fujitsu split system. The outdoor unit is fed with 30 amps and has a nameplate of 18.6 amps with heat and 1.5 for the fan. This unit supplies three ceiling units in a dropped ceiling. The circuit breaker meters a 20 amp load but the breaker heats up unitll it trips. All connections are tight and the wiring is sized correctly. I wired six other systems in the same building and when I metered the others I noticed the amperage would maintain lower and the breakers stay cool. I replaced the circuit breaker and hours later it happened again.

3 split units run from one compressor one is not cooling

If there is 3 indoor units from one condensing unit
(6 pipes at outdoor unit) this is classed as a multi unit

All units will run correctly as long as they all require same mode, cooling or heating, if one unit decides to heat it will shut down until master unit decides to heat then it will start, for each unit to individually heat and cool there would have to be 3 pipes to each indoor,

Daikin split system air con dead

Split system Air conditioners are very often on two or more separate breakers, with a control voltage (24vac commonly) connecting their operation. the condensor unit and out-door fan generally on a 220 vc 'paired' breaker, possibly a quick disconnect near the unit with fuses inside, or an independant breaker pair, and the evaporator unit with INDOOR fan on a 110 or 220 vac breaker.

switch the fan to 'ON' at the thermostat... this is the midpoint of the system electrically. If the fan comes on check for voltage at the condensor unit. a check to see if the thermostat is the problem... remove the thermostat and connect the red, green and either the white or yellow wires (not both) if you chose white you should have heat...yellow AC...

most split system AC have a small buss fuse on the control circuit board of the indoor unit. looks like a glass tube with metal caps held by metal clips. In 40+ yrs experience I have found it is more likely one or both of the 30 amp buss fuses near the outdoor unit (replace both even if one is still ok) or a 30 amp breaker in the quick disconnect box.
In many systems the control voltage to the thermostat derives from a transformer in the outdoor unit... it could be as simple as a broken wire. Without a full diagnostic, a complete description of the unit ( AC or heat pump, etc) this is all speculation

Have model ASTB24LDC/AOTS24LDC Inverter Fujitsu split system. As of Thursday 11th Nov, unit stopped working. Won't respond with remote. An electrician came to test it this morning, says there is power to...

I have same problem like yours to my newlyinstalled Fujitsu multi-split system (the first time use since system installed1 week ago). I rang the electrician whodid the installation; he said it must be the units themselves nothing to dowith electricity. Okay, then I rang Fujitsu and their local service agent. Theysuggested me to switch off C/B for an hour to reset the units. I followed theinstruction but the indoor units still did not respond to remote control...

It simply looks like no power supply to indoor units (they are hard-wired tothe outdoor unit). So I used a multi-meter to test the power terminals of indoorunits (Danger! If you have no idea about this, don't even try! ): it seemed nopower supply even C/B is on. I turned to the isolator which next to the outdoorunit. The isolator was making arcing noise when I switched it on and off. Theindoor units suddenly turned on for few minutes then died again. So I figuredout the problem is that crooked isolator. I called the unhappy electricianto replace the isolator. End story....
I hope my experience will give a littlehelp to you...

I have an 18 K unit with E7 error on heat mode

I just installed a YMGI brand mini-split AC and had exactly the same problem. AC worked fine, but when I tried using heat mode I would get an E7 error.

After talking to their tech support I discovered the problem. There was a separate cable that needed to be connected that I'd forgotten to hook up. This cable runs from the internal unit to the outdoor unit and connects a defrost sensor.

In my case I had totally missed that cable when I installed the unit. After running another line and connecting it the unit is now functioning normally.

If this is a new install, then make sure all your cables have been run. If it was previously working, then check to see if one of the cables had become disconnected. If it's not the cable, then it's probably the sensor.

Good luck

Fujitsu mini split outdoor unit not running, but indoor unit is running after turnning on

Check the disconnect switch and make sure that both the fuses are good and not shot. If one is shot then the system wont work. There are two fuse. Also be careful due to you will be working around 210 volts

Split unit, I get heat but no cold

I have run into this with the LG brand systems. try shutting power off to the outdoor unit to reset all units. If problem persists, it could have to do with a charge level of refrigerant (freon) or possibly a failed control board.

Will Not Heat

On the outdoor unit the fan should not be running, on the indoor unit the fan should be running. If you then check the outdoor unit with fan not running, you should be able to hear clearly that the compressor is actually working. If this is all correct, it is possible that your fourway reverse valve is seeping and needs to be replaced.
