Question about Maytag Atlantis MDE7400AY Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Dryer won't start, light comes on

The dryer stopped in the middle of a cycle. The light comes on, but when I pull the start knob nothing happens. I already tried replacing the thermal fuse and high temp thermostat. What else should I check?

Yep, I ahve the same problem with the same model, the Atlantis series (MDE6400AYW). I set the timer, pull it out, and you can hear the timer running, but no proper action of the dryer at all. I have replaced the electircal cord, gone through all of the troubleshooting steps, and still no luck.

Any further advice will be greatly appreciated, so that I can fix it myself. Service calls are way too expensive.

Try pulling out the knob and turning the post wth your fingers. You will have to caibrate it yourself. If this does not work, You will have to rplace the control board behind the knob.

Dryer check filter light keeps blinking and dryer will not start cleaned lint filter and nothing happened display on control board blinks when dryer is turned on and that's about it can you assist dyer...

There is a reminder light to "Check Lint Filter" near the lower right of the cycle knob. It will come on every time the power button is pushed. After cleaning the lint filter, if the "check lint screen" light does not go off, it is likely that the touch pad control will need replacement.

Eurotech dryer. ON light flashes on and off, beeps once, and still flashes then nothing happens, dryer won't start. Help?

The problem is that you stopped a cycle before the program knob reached the "STOP" (12 o'clock on the knob). All you have to do is turn on the machine, turn the knob to STOP, and wait a couple of seconds. You'll hear a tone and the ON/OFF light will stop blinking. Turn the program knob to the cycle you want and- viola! you're good to go!

Dryer won't turn on...

Try pushing the breaker pair off, then on and re-check the dryer. If still nothing, pull the power plug and check the two slanted slots for ~220 volts AC. If you don't have access to a voltmeter, or a friend with one, call an electrician to check. If you read the voltage stated, then the problem is within the dryer. Check the back of the machine for a reset button.
