Question about Garden

My name is Dane and I am going to help you solve your problem.
Normally, when an engine backfires through the carburetor, It will be from a valve problem. You should first adjust the valve clearance looking also for any bent valves or pushrods.
The other thing I would check would be your flywheel to make sure it hasn't sheared a flywheel key, and check your coil and gap. This is doubtful, but worth a look if the valves check out ok.
I hope I've helped! Thank you! Dane
