Question about Cameras

Open Question

I'm trying to do the NS-DV111080F firmware update from version 1.05 to version 1.06. I made sure that my SD card was blank, inserted it into my iMac, and then copied the unzipped file onto my SD card. I made sure my camcorder was off, put the SD card in, and then turned it on. I waited for a while but the firmware update never showed on the display. This is really bothering me and if you could help me to fix this that would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: 256 Sandisk SD card problem with an Optio 33LF

Optio 33LF Firmware Upgrade Information & Instructions: This firmware corrects "camera freezing & cannot display images" issues with Sandisk & Black's 128MB & 256MB Secure Digital Cards. This problem is occurred because Sandisk changed the manufacturing location from the Philippine's to China during production of the Optio 33LF. They also change the electronic chip used the SD Card which caused a compatibility problems with Pentax, Minolta, Palm and other digital device manufacturers. In turn this also caused a problem with Black's SD Cards as they are manufactured by Sandisk. Therefore, we had to release a Firmware Upgrade for the Optio 33LF to correct compatibility issues with these SD Cards. HOW TO CHECK WHAT THE CURRENT FIRMWARE VERSION: Confirm the current firmware version by pushing and "HOLDING DOWN" the "Right Arrow & Right Zoom" button located at the back of the Optio 33LF. While continuing to hold the "Right Arrow & Right Zoom" button turn the POWER on the Optio 33LF. The current firmware version will be displayed on the LCD. If the firmware version reads "Current Version 01.01.05.04" then your cameras firmware is up to date. If you do not have the current version, then please refer to the information listed below. Please be sure to upgrade your camera. You can download the firmware from the following link. Please be sure to follow the instructions listed below. The Sansa E260 does not see the inserted SD card

Reboot the system and try again. You have to make sure it's shut down when you're inserting the card. If it still doesn't work make sure it has updated firmware. Sometimes that can cause some issue as well.

Hi there:
Try this:
- Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
- Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
- Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
- In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
- Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
- Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

When I insert a SD card into my iMac it dose not appear on the desktop. It did when I first got the computer but since the last software update it don't work.

Uninstall the last update for your iMac. After you do that reboot it and then put the sd card and see if it reads it. If it does then you know the update was corrupting the drivers for your card reader.

If you do that and your sd card still isn't being read, try another sd card and if it still doesn't read even the 2nd card then that means its a problem with your card reader.

Imac model a1311 can not retrive sd card

The SD card that you tried is likely not the proper size for your iMac, try using tweezers to remove it and perhaps investing in an adapter to the correct size from the one that you tried.
