This answer was VERY incorrect. It is obvious that you didn't look up the model that I supplied the number for. I do not need any additrional help. I certanly didn't get my money's worth.

Not only was you solution incorrect but it didn't even come close to being correct for this refrigrator. This is the reason that I supplied the model number, to get the correct procedure. You need to KNOW the unit in question before you answer and make stupid and incorrect statements. All ice makers are not the same. THis one is in the refrigrator , NOT IN THE FREEZER. DAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are usually 3 quarter inch hex head screws in the ice maker that affix it to the side wall of the freezer 2 on top over the ice maker and 1 underneath the ice maker remove the2 on top part way and the 1 on the bottom completely then lift up and it will be free to unplug it from the harness that powers it,then just reverse procedure to put new unit in place

Hello,

An ice maker is a electrical unit that is installed into a freezer.

Water flows into the icemaker through a tube on the back of the refrigerator. The water is then transformed into ice by the ice maker, allowing you to enjoy a nicely chilled beverage.

Installing and removing an Ice Maker is very easy. The process may vary slightly depending on the model of refrigerator, but the technique will be similar.

Instructions
Things You'll Need:

  • Screwdriver
  1. Ensure that the water going into the ice maker is shut off. If there is not a valve on the water line going to the refrigerator, check under the house, because there is usually a shutoff valve there.

If there is no shutoff valve for the water line, which is rare, it is possible to cap off the water line with a screw on end cap. If this is the case, you would have to shut the water off completely in the house, cap off the water line, and turn the water back on.
  2. Remove the container that holds the ice, as well as any plastic shelves.
  3. Remove the screws holding the ice maker in place. There are usually only two and they connect the icemaker to the inside of the freezer.
  4. Disconnect the wiring harness that is hooked up to the ice maker.
  5. Disconnect the water line from the ice maker.
  6. Remove the ice maker.
Thanks.

How to reinsert ice maker into 1992 Model TS25AF

You unscrew the srews holding the ice maker into the refrigerator. There may be 2 or 3. Then you should unplug any electrical connection, and saw on another site you need to remove the arm and install it onto the new ice maker. Then replace the new ice maker into refrigerator. There should be a different piece that's actually connected to the water input and then sends the water into the Icemaker.

I have a Maytag model mf12568aes refrigerator---when I use the water it pulses and there is a knocking noise in the refrigerator ---the ice maker works fine

if water stays still long enough it will release a small amount of air,and it sounds like you have an air lock.first try to run as much water as you can to see if that fixes it otherwise its a clip/pipe off job.

Need to replace Ice Maker in bottom freezer

Good day,
3 screws hold the ice maker in place. On some versions the 2 top screws are replaced with clips, but it is self explanatory.
The cover is a tight fit, but un clips from the bottom first. You re-install by snapping it in place with the palm of your hand.
The wire pulls straight out of the front of the ice maker and then you wiggle the rear off its mounting hole.
HOWEVER,
What you described is classic of a bad water valve. Especially the overflow issue. I would change the valve first, and if it still has issues then replace the ice maker.

Ice maker will only cycle once then it goes to off position . It stop working due to ice build up in supply tube. I removed the ice maker and ran hot water over unit to clear out the ice that was lodged in...

That bar your talking about goes to the full up position just before the end of the harvest cycle then falls right at the end of the cycle. But on a good day it barely drops. Characteristic of that ice maker.
If you ran water over the ice maker try these 2 things.
1. Remove the ice maker and leave it on the counter for about 2 days to completely dry out. Then re-install and try again.
2. If no luck, hang a small weight to the middle of the wire to see if it will drop on it's own.
3. If no luck, you'll have to replace the ice maker. However,
if your commited to buying a new ice maker, first snap off the front cover and look for interference where the wire goes into the ice maker. You can actually remove the whole solid state front end by removing the 3 screws that hold it on and make a more detailed check.
P.S. pull the wire out of the ice maker before this last step. It simply pulls out.

The ice maker in my whirlpool gold refrigerator Model No, GR2FHTXTBOO, is not working.

Hello jitkagardner,
Welcome

You said, The ice maker in my whirlpool gold refrigerator Model No, GR2FHTXTBOO, is not working.

How old is the fridge?
When have you last changed the water filter.
Should be down below at the front grille!
Try these tasks!

If the ice maker is not producing ice or not enough ice
Refrigerator connected to a water supply and the supply
shutoff valve turned on? Connect refrigerator to water
supply and turn water shutoff valve fully open.
• Kink in the water source line? A kink in the line can reduce
water flow. Straighten the water source line.
• Ice maker turned on? Make sure wire shutoff arm or switch
(depending on model) is in the ON position.
• New installation? Wait 24 hours after ice maker installation
for ice production to begin. Wait 72 hours for full ice
production.
• Freezer door closed completely? Firmly close the freezer
compartment door. If the freezer compartment door will not
close all the way, see "The doors will not close completely."
• Large amount of ice recently removed? Allow 24 hours for
ice maker to produce more ice.
• Ice cube jammed in the ice maker ejector arm?
Remove ice from the ejector arm with a plastic utensil.
• Water filter installed on the refrigerator? Remove filter and
operate ice maker. If ice volume improves, then the filter may
be clogged or incorrectly installed. Replace filter or reinstall it
correctly.
• Reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to
your cold water supply? This can decrease water pressure.

Let me know how it goes!
