Wire and bellows repair.Check to see if the rubber gasket bellows has a tear. If it loooks good the bellows goes over the front lip of the washer ,than place the wire that should have a spring attached over the lip. you will need a extra set oh hands to help hold the wire in place as you use to butterknifes to slde the spring over the lip.

Rubber seal inside door came off-how do I replace it and where does the retaining wire/cable go?

Hi,

Reinstalling that rubber seal is a lesson in patients. There is a metal lip on the machine opening and a cooresponding groove in the rubber seal. These two need to be mated together. That's the easy part. Once together, the retaining wire and spring go around the rubber seal just on top of where the rubber seal goes over the matching lip. It will take several tries, the spring may be small but it's very strong and difficult to stretch. Good luck.

Whirlpool Front Loading Duet Washing Machine Plastic at drum front shredding

i think your talking about the rubber door seal????
you can change this yourself,,,under the seal on the case is a wire spring unhook it and the door seal will fold inside the washer,,,on the inner drum you will find the other wire spring undo this as well and pull the old door seal out through the hole in the door,,,the new seal is fitted to the iner drun first so you need to turn the new seal inside out to fit it,,,push the seal into the washer and fit the inner wire first then unfold the seal and fit it over the outer door so you can fit the wire spring,,,
easy after you have fitted a fuw 100?

I have water leaking from seal around door. clothes got twisted inside around rubber part and pulled wire that is supposed to whole rubber in place. i put it back but can not get a good seal. is there a...

hi, the problem is trying to repair it can be hard and there are no guarantees its going to solve the problem, what some people use is silicon you can buy this from most diy stores and then when you put it on the rubber seal keep building it up untill it covers the whole or where it leaks.
Now doing this dosnt mean its going to solve the problem sometimes you can get it just right and then get at least a few months extra use out of it but on the other hand you might still have water leaking as its difficult to create a seal with to seperate materials ie the rubber seal and the silicon plus over time this would fail causing the seal to leak again.

You could try doing it but you may find it wont solve your problem.

What you could do is buy a new door seal you should be able to get one ordered from a local electrical appliance repair shop, but the problem you have is depending on how old the machine is would depend on wether its financially worth spending the money as its its over say 3 years old then the chances are you could soon be replacing motors and belts etc but this all depends on age.

You could try the silicon first as an emergency fix but their is no guarantee that it will last that long so its up to you.

replacing the whole seal would cost the price of the seal plus someone fitting it for you unless you could do this your self.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance

The rubber seal came off of the inside during the spin cycle - behind door against the tub -- and a wire ring came out. I put the rubber seal back on but have no idea where the wire ring would go? Is this...

The wire ring is the seal retaining spring, it fits in a groove at the rear of the door seal.
Double the seal back in the drum, and fit the spring around the seal at the rear of same, it fits inside a groove, it is difficult, so persist and be patient.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

A HOLE IN THE RUBBER SEAL

You can certainly diy. Unplug the washer. With the door open, look at the bottom of the seal. You'll see a ring clamp. Loosen the screw and remove the clamp. Peel the seal inward. It is easier to complete the seal swap with the front off. Remove the door and set aside. Locate the screws for the front of the machine and remove them, gaining access to the seal. Youcan either set the door to the side with the door lock wires still attached, or unclip them, which is easier. With the seal folded inward, you will likely find another clamp at the bottom. Loosen this as well. Remove the seal and replace with the new one, making sure to orient it like the old one was, and fold it to the inside like you had the old one for removal. Replace the front panel. Complete the seal installation, being careful to make sure that the clamp removed earlier gets put back in the groove and seats well. Reinstall the door. Clothes got tangled with rubber seal inside and ripped it. How do I fix/get a new seal?

This part is a problem on many front-loaders and never really goes away. The rubber seal is a replaceable part and should be supplied under warranty. There is no way to fix it.You should try very hard to get Sears to pick up the labor cost as well.
