Cant flash bios a1410n

Try simple first. When booting, AND BEFORE the XP logo, press f8 repeatedly until you see the boot options menu. If you miss it, you will see the xp loading logo, if so, restart and try again. From the boot menu, try the "boot with last known good configuration" option. If that doesn't fix it, re-boot, f8, and try the "safe mode" option. If it boots with any of these methods, do a full shut down and re-start again normally.
If that doesn't get it to boot normally, I would do the following. (I would, but you should only try this if you have a good understanding of windows and needed programs installing, ram replacement, hard drive repair/replacement and internal computer wiring)
Now, if your computer worked fine, then suddenly started this loop, I dont think it a bios problem. I expect you might have a hardware problem. Did you change any hardware very recently? Sometimes that stops windows from loading. Or, you could try changing the ram and retry, could be bad ram. But I think it is a hard drive issue. I think you will have to reload windows and/or replace the hard drive.
To safeguard your info, you should replace the main hard drive with another drive, load windows fully on it, then add the original drive back in as a slave/secondary drive, and retreive your personal info and files from it. Your needed programs will have to be re-installed on the newer windows drive. When you get all your files copied over (use copy and paste, not cut and paste), you can format the old drive and use it as storage, or just format and keep for the next time, or sell it. I would also run a "drive fitness program" to test it for bad sectors.
Or, if you dont need anything from your windows, you could format and install from the xp install cd. If it loads and runs, the drive is probably ok (I would still test it for bad sectors), or, if it cant load because of errors, the drive is probably bad. Retry with a new drive.

I have a hp533x. When I turn it on it always says that windows wasn't shut dw properly. Even though it was. Then it ask if I want to start in safe, normal etc mode. I have tried all modes only to come...

it could be win32 virus which has wiped one of your files that starts pc you might have to do a full windows xp reinstall check youtube to find out how to install windows xp.....if you downloaded something recently you can do a system restore through safe mode.... restart the pc when the first screen comes up press F8 a few times it will then ask you to start in safe mode and a few other options try selecting the option (boot from last known good configuration) if that doesnt work then resart the pc again then press F8 again few times then safe mode options will come up again then select safe mode hit enter key then let the files load it will look different when it starts press start then all programmes then select accessories then select system tools then select system restore dont use the default time to restore select different restore time pick a date on the next screen click on it then click next the pc will restore the pc to when it was working properly of that date you select..it will restart itself if that doesnt work you might have to a full system recovery install windows i mean again you will find videos on youtube showing you how to install your version of windows warning it will delete all files on your pc and then reinstall windows it will be like a new pc....bonnell

I can't get into the safe mode ...windows XP when I highlight "safe mode" and "enter" I get a screen saying windows XP. It says to highlight and enter so when I do I just get the same "safe mode" again...

Hmm, you generally need to hit F8 at power on to get to safe mode. Sounds like you have a boot loop.
At power up hit F8 many times, choose safe mode, choose do not restart on error.

Umm... can't boot to windows at all so the program that was provided wont work, can't reinstall windows automatic disk eject on startup!

Hi,

Restart your computer. Immediately after the screen goes blank for the first time, press the F8 key repeatedly. The Windows Advanced Options menu appears. If the menu does not appear, restart your computer and try again. Use the cursor keys on your keyboard (your mouse will not work) to select Last Known Good Configuration, and then press ENTER. Windows XP attempts to start.

If you recently installed new hardware, shut down your computer and disconnect the hardware. Then, restart Windows XP and troubleshoot your hardware to get it working properly.

Restart your computer and press F8 again. This time, choose Safe Mode and press ENTER. Windows XP attempts to start in Safe Mode, which does not automatically start programs and hardware, and displays very primitive graphics. If Windows XP starts successfully in Safe Mode, you can remove any programs or updates you have recently installed. Then, restart your computer normally.

Good luck!
And Thanks.

OK in all seriousness this is what I want you to do.

Press F8 as the computer boots up.

Choose "Safe Mode with Command Prompt"

Let me know if you're able to get that far and then we'll proceed from there.

Try booting the system to Safe mode.

To boot to safe mode:

Restart the computer. As soon as the BIOS has finished loading, F8 key on your keyboard. When Windows Options menu appears, scroll to select the Safe mode menu item, and then press Enter.

Select "Last known good configuration" then press Enter.

If that doesn't work reboot again and keep tapping on F8 to Safe Mode and instead of selecting "last known good configuration" select "Repair Your Computer"

  1. Place your Windows XP set up disk in your CD drive.
  2. Turn off your computer and change your BOOT order to boot from CDs first.
  3. Turn your computer back on.
  4. Press any key on your keyboard when it asks you to.
  5. Press enter when you see a blue screen, one of the options should say, "To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.".
  6. Press enter to start the windows set up.

  8. Press "R" when the set up has found your current version of XP.
  9. Notice that the Set up is deleting all your windows xp files and replacing them. (This will not cause loss of data)
