I want to know how to clean it. When you say water with bleach, do you mean just rinse it out with that?

Mix 1/4 cup of bleach with 1 gallon of cool water for a disinfectant solution to kill the types of microbes that like humid areas. Rinse with clear water.

Clean your can opener

There are several methods for disinfecting and cleaning can openers. Here are a few:

1. Vinegar and a toothbrush
Take an old toothbrush and dip it in white vinegar; use it to scrub well the can opener.
Then dip and swish the can opener in hot soapy water, rinse it and let it dry.

2. Electric can openers
In order to clean an electric can opener, a simple option is to run a paper towel through the mechanism, which will most likely absorb most of the grease and food particles.

3. Wax paper
Run a sheet of wax paper through the mechanism of an old and dirty manual can opener and it will both clean it and smooth it, making your next can openings much easier

4. Remove rust
In order to remove severe rust from a can opener, let the tool sit in a bowl filled with white vinegar for a few hours, up to a full night. Then with an old toothbrush scrub the rust away. Rinse with water and soap the gears and dry them, letting them run through a cloth to make sure they are fully dry.

Black scum forming forming on rubber seal on inside of washing machine door

  • 1 Put on rubber gloves and safety glasses before commencing the cleaning process.
  • 2 Lay an old towel or drop cloth on the floor under the front of the washer to prevent floor damage as you clean.
  • 3 Fill a plastic cup with bleach and dip a tooth brush into the bleach.
  • 4 Remove the toothbrush and scrub the washing machine gasket with it to remove the black mold from it. Hold the gasket open with the fingers of your other hand so that you can clean the center grooves of the gasket where the most mold is likely to grow.
  • 5 Rinse the toothbrush in the cup of bleach and continue cleaning until you have removed the mold from the entire gasket.
  • 6 Wipe the gasket with a paper towel to remove excess bleach residue and any remaining mold.

My oral b rechargeable toothbrush (brand new out the box at the weekend) wil not recharge - have thrown the intructions away thinking "what is there to know you stick the toothbrush on the charger...

The plastic connecton has a coil in it, much like how a transformer is done. If you read up on how a transformer works its pretty much the same principle as it works on Induction. There is a coil and core iron in the end of the toothbrush and in the base, this creates AC current which inturn causes induction to flow through the coils and charge the battery. And about the reason why it is not charging is probably down to the battery being flat ( happens even when new ) or there is a loose connection when it was being transported.
    Hope this helps.

Don't know where you live, but commonly silt comes up with the cold water supply, especially in rural areas, and clogs the holes in the dispenser. The best way to deal with this is an old toothbrush to rub it clean. When it dispenses some bits too soon, it could be that the water is pushing through the only holes that are available. Give it a good scrub with an old toothbrush and hopefully you will both be smiling :)

Mold and mildew in door deal of LG front loader WM

This is a problem with all front loaders. We have used those cleaning tablets in a regular hot cycle per the directions on the box. You can also try placing 1 cup of crystal dishwashing detergent in the tub and fill the soap dispenser with bleach and run a quick cycle full hot.
