My dear friend, it will not lose any information or program and your device will not screw up. That will get the unit working perfectly fine. But be sure to turn it off first before you remove the battery. That way, it will go through the normal process of shutting down.

Can the ecu n a 2007 Nissan sentra lose programming if disconnected from power to long like 3 mths?I would greatly appreciate it for any advice bc it needs repaired for a child with a lifelong illness

the ECM ( engine control management has a cpu( central processor unit) that runs the system. ( there is no small battery in the ECM as in a computer)
when a battery is disconnected even for a short time that program in the CPU can be corrupted and no starting --immobilizer activated, lights , controls all acting up , sensors out of parameters will result
If you fit a fully charged battery and use a scan tool to reset the system there is every possibility that all will return to normal

The calculator will not turn on

If your calculator does not turn on, then there is every tendency that the battery is weak. So replace the battery and try again. But if replacing the battery does not solve the problem, read further;

Check the batter seat. I mean the position where the battery stays, look if you will find any rust of the battery terminal (metal). Rust can prevent the battery from contacting the unit, preventing it from receiving power. Get a flat screw driver, scratch the rust off, fix the battery back in and try again.

If there is no rust, then there is probably some disconnection inside the unit. This can be between the battery terminal and the board. Get a screw driver and remove all the screw. Take the unit apart and check for any lose contact between the battery terminal and the board.

I hope the above makes sense to you.......

Good luck.

Can you show me a video on how to put in heater core for 1996 Nissan Maximal

What i have is the steps on how to put or replace the heater core. hope this will help you.

the core is located behind the steering column, meaning you mainly need to remove that. On more recent cars, the whole dashboard needs removal.

Older Models

Shut off power to the Maxima, especially the air bag system. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait at least 3 minutes for the air bag to lose energy.

rain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Use a clean container if you plan on reusing the coolant.

Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater unit inside the engine compartment. Remove the blower and cooling unit from the interior and then the steering member assembly. Remove the heater unit and the core from the unit.

Install the new core into the heater unit and reconnect the unit in the car. Connect the steering member, cooling unit and heater hoses.Refill the cooling system and connect the battery cable.

Newer Models

Unplug the negative battery terminal. Wait 3 minutes for the air bag system to lose power. Drain the engine coolant into a clean container.

Disengage the air bags from both sides of the car. Remove driver's bag by removing the steering wheel's lower and side lids and the Torx bolts from the wheel sides. Disconnect the passenger bag electrical connector from inside the glove box.

Disassemble the instrument panel. Remove all components and screws from the panel, then have an assistant help lift and remove the panel itself.

Disconnect the following heater, defroster and ventilation ducts on the rear and sides. Remove the heater housing and the heater core from the housing.

Reinstall the heater housing with the new core installed. Replace all ducts, the instrument panel and the air bags.

fill the cooling system and reconnect the battery cable. Let the Maxima

What is the best way to replace a heater core on a 97 Mercury tracer? And where is it located?

This is for the 1.8L and the 1.9L engine:

1.8L & 1.9L Engines CAUTION NEVER open, service or drain the radiator or cooling system when hot; serious burns can occur from the steam and hot coolant. Also, when draining engine coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze and could drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantities. Always drain coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is several years old.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. If equipped, disable the SRS system.
  2. Drain the cooling system.
  3. Disconnect the heater hoses at the firewall.
  4. Remove the instrument panel.
  5. Disconnect the mode selector and temperature control cables from the cams and retaining clips.
    1. Remove the necessary defroster duct screws and loosen the cap screw that secures the heater-to-blower clamp.
    2. Remove the three heater unit mounting nuts and disconnect the antenna lead from the retaining clip.
    3. Remove the heater unit.
    4. Remove the insulator and the four brace cap screws.
    5. Remove the brace.
    6. Remove the heater core from the heater unit.
  6. To install:
    1. Install the heater core into the heater unit.
    2. Install the brace.
    3. Install the brace cap screws and the insulator.
    4. Place the heater unit into position, then attach the defroster and floor ducting.
    5. Install the heater unit mounting nuts.
    6. Tighten the heater-to-blower clamp cap screw and install the defroster duct screws.
    7. Connect the antenna lead to the retaining clip.
    8. Install the instrument panel.
    9. Connect and adjust the mode selector and temperature control cables.
    10. Connect the heater hoses at the firewall.
    11. Fill the cooling system and connect the negative battery cable.
    12. Start the engine and check for leaks.
    13. Check the coolant level and fill as necessary.

How do I change the battery on the motherboard of Toshiba 4600?

BSOD's (Blue Screen of Death) on the 4600 series almost exclusively come from bad memory sockets (you have two), while the RTC issue (date/time) is un-related. Only in extreme rare cases have I seen both memory sockets go bad - so you can probably get around one bad socket by using only the "other" socket. The memory compartment is at the bottom, square big door covering it held in by 2 screws.

The RTC battery (CMOS battery) requires separation of the lower case, as it's located between the main battery and the palmrest. To get to it:
1. remove all bottom screws labelled B16 and B6 (including ones within the battery compartment);
2. remove the 2 screws in the back of the laptop;
3. remove the keyboard cover strip above the keyboard;
4. remove the 2 screws holding the keyboard, disconnect and remove keyboard;
5. remove the 3 (B16) long screws on the left half, and the 2 short screws behind the CD-ROM drive.
6. disconnect video cable, floppy cable, and mouse cables, and wireless antennas.
7. now you can separate the lower case from the upper case/screen assy. You'll see the RTC (cmos) battery - it should be dressed in green with two wires (red/blk) connecting it to the motherboard.

That's should be it. I'm citing all this by heart, so forgive me if I miss a screw here or there.... :-)
