The problem is either a failing inverter board or a bad lamp. To confirm the findings hook an external monitor to the video output on the back of your laptop, if everything works with the monitor then it will confirm that the laptop display is the issue. On the other hand if both displays show the same thing it is a motherboard problem.

When you get access, go into power options, select hibernate top right, and uncheck the box to the left to disable it, this will free up more disc space and get rid of microsoft worst idea.

Acer aspire one screen barely displayed

There are two causes, the inverter board, " just under the LCD screen" more likely, or the backlight behind the display, "less likely"

Has a Sd code on the screen.

Yep mine was doing the same thing...repairman came out and found a small plastic piece of a play necklace2_bing.gif in the pump....Luckily it was plastic and the pump has a rubber "fan". He said if the foreign object were metal it wouldve destroyed that "fan, flapper"

- I watched him take everything apart and i think i can do it myself now. Its just a matter of turning the washer on its back, leanign against the wall if possible and going under and undoing the clamp....putting it on there was a bit of a hassle but he got it in...

Hp zt1180 monitor went very dark

Some laptops have a brightness setting in the BIOS, some have a specific button, and some have a configuration program. If you cannot see the screen in a darkened room, your CCFL backlights are not working. Cold Cathode Fluorescent bulbs are tubes along the sides of the display, or top/bottom that light up the screen. If they are not lighting at all, or you can see that only part of the screen is lit, send it back and ask for a replacement or repair. This is assuming it is still under warranty...
If not, prepare to spend some bucks.

Screen brightness

The brightness of the screen depends on two things: the inverter and the lamp it lits. If the inverter is ok, then there may be something with the lamp. However, the lamp stays almost inside the screen and when you replaced the screen, it was probrably replaced too. Also: the inverter is diferent from note to note, was it replaced by the same type? The easiest way to discover the problem is to measure the voltage in the inverter (in and out).

Screen goes blank at first try. Works after 1-2 tries.

this may be your inverter going bad. Inverter is the board(s) on the side of your TV that powers up your screen.

Dark screen

if the picture is REALLY dark, like you can just barely see it in a lit room, then the backlight might not be lit. LCD TVshave backlight that shines through the LCD screen which allows you to see the picture.

If it's not the backlight then it would be the brightness/contrast settings that need to be adjusted. If the picture used to be normal and all of a sudden went dark, verify the backlight. Normally you can look through the slots on the top of the set and determine if the backlight is on. If you can see a bright light through any of the slots, the backlight is probably OK... go after the brightness/contrast settings.
