The product is LaCie Hard Disk 1TB Desktop with Hi-Speed USB2.0 USB 2.0 Hard Drive
I am using a A/V connection type to connect to the TV.
The error message I get after connection the cables to the Lacie and my Samsung TV is: no signal
I have tried with another set of cables and also on another TV => no signal
    What can be the problem?

Its a mediaplayer actually thats why it can be conected through A/V cables to TV.

    The reference

    Actually its a mediaplayer.

The product brand and the rest is as follows

1TB LaCie LACINEMA PREMIER HDD USB 2.0 E

Its driver is "lacinema_premier_fw.bin" which is no more released obviously by "lacie".

Hope this helps you identify the possible troubleshooting cause.

    With best regards,

    Halil

As you can imagine, I did all that already several times but it never helped.

The product is dead for sure.

    Thx anyway

Hello, your question is very vague, I need to know atleast the brands and models of the devices involved, how are you connecting them and if any other error messages or problems appear.

    hello,

I've never heard of a hard drive that could be connected with a a/v cable to a TV, can you tell me the model number of the drive or anything that reads on its label.

  • Ekse Jan 02, 2011

make sure you got it connected properly and that you have selected the correct input on the tv.

    here is the user manual:
    http://www.lacie.com/download/manual/lac...

TeChNICAl NOTe: When using the Composite A/V cable, use either the S-Video connector or the yellow Composite RCA jack. Do not use both. You will not receive a signal if both the S-Video connector and the yellow Composite RCA jack are plugged in at the same time.

and you cannot connect to a computer and a tv at the same time.

connect the yellow, white and red cables to the hard drive and then to the tv make sure you are connecting them in the right appropriate, same color slots on the tv.

or if you use component video, do not connect the yellow wire at all, leave it hanging at both ends, the hard drive and the tv.

Do not connect composite video (yellow) when using the component video connections

power button on the remote to turn it on.

TV out button on the remote to switch to TV mode.

    Cycles through: NTSC Composite > PAL Composite > HDTV480p Component > HDTV720p omponent > HDTV1080i Component

hit the tv out slowly, wait alteast 20 seconds between presses, keep pressing it around 10 times until you see picture. if you don't see picture something is wrong, Double and triple check that you got everything connected properly to the tv and that you indeed have the right input selected. Try other inputs if you are not sure. until you get picture.

Connect desktop pc with hd tv with a wireless router

If you wish to connect your PC to the TV with a wireless connection,IF your tv does not have a wifi adapter you will need something like a wireless media centre.
These usually have a hard drive to record also.

Lacie 250GB Hard Disk is not being recognized by PC (Windows XP)

Some PC's cannot deliver enough power to the USB devices to function properly through the USB port.
Does your Lacie hard disk have a power input connector if so conect a power adapter to it before you put it into your USB port.

Another alternative, get a powered USB hub connect it into your computer then connect the Lacie hard drive to the powered USB hub.

I reccomend connecting you computer directly to your tv, depending on which mac you have. DVI or vga. I'm sure the manufacterer does as well. The files maybe in a codec your tv does not compute.
