I do not use a USB port, it has a stereo jack connection! Is it normal to get white noise when the system is not connected to anything at all???

Thanks for the help - I suspect that the problem is indeed the coil - the sytem was received as a gift in 2005!
    Thanks for the help!

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
You may want to connect the speaker on a different usb port. This can help eliminate the white noise.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Not really, not unless that the coil inside is grounded or worn out. But if it's near a magnetic field, it's possible.

My oil light keeps coming on and when i shift white smoke comes out the exhaust pipe. Also a loud whining noise when i accelerate.

Could be too late but change the filter and oil for the correct grade. If that doesn't fix it, a new engine will.

98 gs300 loud screeching noise that last for about 5-10 seconds

The only four rotating items under the hood are
engine
power steering pump
A/C compressor
and smog emission pump.
==== I would check the fluid level on the power steering first. Check for pink fluid leak on the ground,
==== Check the A/C system with the wheel turn to one side and APPLY ALL LOADS.
Example: high beam on,A/C max, radio on and deforster on.
This will give you system a stress test.
All eyes on the pully and locate to part that generate the loud screeching noise.
My bet is on the power steering pump.

Please post more info on the comment window.
I will follow up on it.

Constant loud muffled noise coming from the sub and speakers.

Try playing with the connection, sounds to me maybe the jack is going bad or has a shorted connection. Plug it in and out slowly to see if that's the issue.
