Hello there

From what you have said it sounds like you have the DISK DRIVE READ ERROR

The main causes are Hardware failure, overheating or wear & tear.

You may need to perform simple maintenance, clean or in some cases adjust settings.

To get the best advice on where to start I recommend a Wii Repair Guide , From this you can fix the problem at home and avoid any large repair bills. Its easier than it sounds when you have help from the guide.

The other solution would be to send the console off to Nintendo, This is free if your still in warranty. If your console is out of warranty then the usual price of repair is $90

Glad I could Help!

Good Luck & Best Regards

Pete

Gamecube cant read my game but can read others

If the game disc is scratched, you can get it resurfaced at a used game store or movie rental store. If it isn't scratched, the disc might just be defective. It doesn't happen very often, but it's possible.

Have Mario Kart Double Dash Gamecube disc. Trying to play on my Wii. It says, "the disc cannot be read, refer the instruction booklet". Don't have one. Any ideas?

There have been a couple of flaws in how the Wii reads Gamecube games, so this could be for a couple of reasons.
1. Some games simply just cant be read on the Wii, but it is completely determined by the game...not the Wii. This is a flaw found in mostly Gamecube games and sometimes Wii games. I have heard of Super Smash Brothers Brawl not working on certain Wii's. In your case, with Mario Kart Double Dash, it could just be that the game simply cannot be read. If this is true, then there is nothing that can be done. (You can test this by putting the game in somebody else's Wii)
2. A more common problem is scratches or fingerprints. If this is the case, then get scratch removal at the store. If you don't want to, then toothpaste will sometimes work.
3. If all else fails...read the instructions booklet.

Cant read game disc please refer to user manual. My sons wii reads discs sometimes and sometimes not. When playing game some times we get the same error message.

Dear, this problem comes with all of your games or just one? If it happens with only one it's because the disc is dirty or has scratches on it. In the first case, just clean it with a common glass cleaner spray and a very soft tissue. In the second case there aren't easy DIY solutions, you better go to a local game retailer and ask if they have a scratch repair machine, with few bucks you'll get your disc repaired.
If this problem happens with all of your disc then it's due to the laser lens. You can try to use a cleaning cd, if you already have one, otherwise i'd suggest to call your local Nintendo support number and describe the problem.
Please rate my solution ++++ if it was helpful, or feel free to ask for more information. Thank you

MARIO CART NOT WORKING

It looks like the wii cant read the disc, check the condition of the disc for scratches or for grease marks, scraches and grease marks are a common problem with any kind of disc, my answer to this is to invest in a disc cleaning system, it will remove most scratches, even it it dont it will remove the sharp edge of the scratch whitch will allow it to play.

I put in a disc and its like theresw no disc in there

wel first you should try cleaning the lens or the eye that reads the disc becouse if that has dust or anything on it it will find it really hard to read a disc with little or no scratches on it,once you've try'd this, wipe the disc a cloth or piece of tissue,if you are still having the same problem well then i recommend that you do ring microsoft and see what they can do
hope this helps GD.

My xbox doesn't always read games and movies and is getting very frustrating please help

Well if the discs have either no scratches or light scratches I would guess you need to run a laser lens cleaning disc through it. I try to run one every month because it is natural for dust to gather and collect on the laser lens over time.

Sometimes its says cant read disc please clean disc or restart your console, but same problem keeps happening

Your disk is probably too scratched. Go to Best Buy and buy a tool that buffs scratched disks.

The disc is unreadable

Is it just dusty, or are there scratches?
If it is just dust, clean is with something soft- t-shirts work quite well ni the abscence of anything else.Make sure to clean from the middle to the edges in lines, not circles.
For small scratches, a sometimes very useful solution is toothpaste.Put some toothpaste by the scratch and rub it it, then wash of excess toothpaste and dry the disc. The toothpaste fills in the scratch, leading to a temporary fix.

Ps2 will not read disc

Check your disk for scratches fingerprints ect,,
if thats all good step two
try useing a lens cleaner

****(( tip and trick for scratched disks ))****
a crayon rubbed on the disk then wiped off with a lint free cloth
no t-shirts dish towels that will just add more scratches
remember start at the center wipeing out to the edge.

if none of that works you may have a lens problem
