Question about Computers & Internet

Hi FixYa I made a big mistake with the FixYa Add-on-Manager, Fix Tool. I downloaded the FixYa Add-on Tool because my XP Pro Browser was hanging. The FixYa Add-on tool gave me the option to delete suspect Add-on's. The Add-on I chose to delete from my browser unwittingly was the RealPlayer Download/Record Button. I have reinstalled RealPlayer in an attempt to recover the download fumction with no success. I am assuming that the Download function for RealPlayer has been altered or removed from the Registry and cannot be restored. Is there a solution that will restore this RealPlayer function ? Thank You

Is RealPlayer still a thing?

Download VLC and use that instead. Much better.
VideoLAN Official page for VLC media player the Open Source video framework

XP is dead, too, and you can get Linux to replace it. Just sayin'.

SOURCE: Computer restore

To avoid problems again like this activate it first, if your not familiar to some techniques it very hard for you to understand what I am gonna tell. The most short term for this is to back up all your files[slave your hard disk to another computer if desktop, if not try to make some ways] and then reformat your computer./ Thats it!

First try a simple windows pc restore, go to the start menu, then to help and restore center and click on "restore my computer to an earlier date" then choose a date before your son mucked up your PC. Boot in safe mode if it wont boot (repeatedly tap f8 during boot)

If this doesnt work ring your pc manufacturer and they will send you restore disks.

If you have built the PC yourself ring microsoft and give them you windows product key and they will send you a new copy of windows.

I have an extra toolbar on my laptop screen

Hi, there are two ways. One way, is through Add/Remove Programs. And the other way is through Internet Browser by Openning the browser and Clicking Tools/Manage Add-Ons/Toolbars (on left pane)/ Highlight Which Toolbar you wish to Delete, and hit Delete (towards bottom of screen). I always do both methods. I also recommend running the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Tool to make sure there aren't any kind of Virus present. Here is the link to download the free software:

Problem getting netzero download to download computer says need to close i need to close explorer browser sites but none are open

Please note that I am using Windows XP so Vista may be slightly different but mostly similar.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and open the "Task Manager". Click "Processes" tab and check the box next to "Show processes from all users". Look for the file name of the web browser you are using and here are two common web browsers.

Microsoft Internet Explorer - iexplorer.exe (If you close explorer.exe by mistake, Windows XP users can go to "Applications", "New Task", and type in "C:/WINDOWS/explorer.exe" or Vista users can simply log out and log in through the task manager.)
Mozilla Firefox - firefox.exe

If you use a different web browser, right click the shortcut for your web browser and click "Properties". The file name will be after the last slash ( \ ) in the target box. File names usually end with ".exe".

Click the file name when you find it and click "End Process" but before you do, you are most likely viewing this with a web browser so this window (and all other windows for your web browser) will close as soon you end the proccess. This means make sure you finish what you are doing and be ready for it to close.
