Question about SmartDisk PhotoBank PB40 40 GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive

I am not getting any information come up on my screen. The screen just remains blue. I recharged the unit all night. When I put in an SD card, it makes a sound for a few minutes, then shuts off. I have no idea if the material has been copyed to the internal hard drive.

Hello,

This sound like a frustrating issue for you. The important questions are, do you have your photos backed up anywhere else? do you have anything of dire importance on the Photobank you can't afford to loose?

If you answered yes to the first question then try resetting the device and if it fails simply replace it. If you answered yes to the second question then try resetting it, then contact me with your location(Country, State, City) and I can recommend a data recovery facility near you to help retrieve the information from the internal drive.

Resetting is fairly simple, power the device on and let it run repeatedly until the batteries are completely dead, then leave it off for a day, run the power cycles again a few times to ensure it's totally dead. It needs to run completely out of power in order to reset, similar to removing the power and battery from a laptop that's stuck in standby. Once you've repeated the power cycling and ensured the battery is totally dead wait another hour then plug it in and charge it. Give it about 10 minutes then try powering it up. If it works normally the reset worked, if not, the device has actually failed. At this point try connecting it to a PC and see if you can access the files, if so, copy them off, if not, contact me with your location and we'll proceed to the next step.

Can I view on computer?


No Alice, you can't. The only thing you can do is put an SD memory card and put it in the unit and save screen shots for viewing on the computer. To update the firmware and programming, you load to an DC card on the computer and then insert it in the unit. The unit always remains on the boat.

Download frsh firmware from manufacturer, yours may be corrupt and use a NEW sd card, they do develop faults every now and then

THE IMAGES CAPTURED AT NIGHT ARE SO DARK THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO VIEW THEM. WE CAN SEE SHADOWS IF DEER BUT CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET AN ADEQUATE PICTURE AT NIGHT.


Turn camera off take out battery's and sd card. Once everything is out put it to the on postion for about 2-3 min. Then put battery's back in with the camera being on still leave sd card out. Once it says no card turn camera off then put sd card back test in dark. If still not working call Moultire 8006533334 option 1 and 1 for a live person.

did you format the card after putting it in the recorder?
press menu
use toggle switch (the scrolling wheel on the right side) to scroll till you find sd card on the menu
push in on toggle switch to select it when you have sd card on the screen
when you do that you'll see 2 choices remain or format
select format then press in on toggle switch
you will be asked if you're sure you want to format the sd card
select yes
the manual said it is important to format your card in the recorder

Okay!!! So I put in this SD 16gh something card & it shows on the screen of the camera "tv screen" and it has a blue background with green arrows that seem to be uploading something but really it


The GL2 works with SD cards. Your 16GB card is an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed for them. You need to use an SD card, 2GB or smaller.

Tried the recovery software on a SD card but it did not open the software


If you made the SD recovery on your computer through a sd slot or card reader it should work. You can't make the recovery sd through your vreader. Put it in the vreader while it is turned off, power it on and the vreader should start reprogramming. Then it will tell you to shut off your vreader and restart but make sure you take the sd card back out before restarting or it will just reprogram again, lol.

at first I also have a same problem with U, yes it might be the battery U should recharge. Try to plug the USB then wait for around 1 hour. The indicator will turn into RED when its charging.

After the charging complete please remove the USB cable then press the play button for 3 sec and wait until the indicator turn blue. The music will play.

Maps on SD card not recognized by Garmin C330 GPS


I dont thinki the 330 handles 4Gb SD cards I think 2Gb is the maximum that is why it isd taking so long and runds out of space so cannot properly load the maps.

AVIC-F700BT won't work after dealer did some work on it


Have you tried updating the firmware? A new version is available from the Pioneer website. You will need a blank, formatted SD card. Unzip the files from the Pioneer download and copy to the SD card. With the key out of the ignition put the SD card into the unit. Put the key in the ignition and turn to position I to turn on the F700BT. The update takes around 10-15 minutes. Ensure that no unnecessary electrical accessories are on in order to save battery life.

The current Tom Toms do NOT come with SD cards any longer. After December of last year, they began to preload the map information directly into the unit. If you had purchased a unit that needed an SD card, the main screen would be an animation of the card being put in the unit to "remind" you to insert the card. You may have a battery issue. How have you been charging the unit?
