Question about RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphone

Good afternoon. I have Blackberry Bold and I did not make any special move or operation and it appeared the note JUM ERROR 102 in my screen with a barre under The JUM ERROR 102 that says RESET. The consequences are that that the screen is white and that I can not use the Smart Phone at all. Because of the barre RESET I took out my battery several times, wait sometimes and put it back but nothing normal was coming back and the screen still to be white with the JUM ERROR 102 appearance and the barre with RESET below. I tried to switch off the Blackberry without any success Each time that I took out the battery and-or tried to switch off the Blackberry the Blackberry tried to download or reprogram the configuration but never get what ever to function well. I do not know how to reset the smart phone. Please what do I have to do. Thank you very much for your help and support

You might need to reinstall the software of your device for you to be able to use it again. Follow the procedure below

Step #1
Before starting make sure that BlackBerry Desktop Software is installed on the computer.

Make sure that you have installed updated device software installed in your PC. Check this link to get update device software from carrier OS download site.


Users can perform a full or selective backup of the data using the Backup and Restore tool in BlackBerry Desktop Manager by completing the following steps:
Connect the BlackBerry device to the computer running BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Double-click Backup and Restore.
Select Backup to perform a full backup or select Advanced to perform a backup of specific databases.
Choose a location to save the backup file, then click Save.
To perform a clean install of the BlackBerry Device Software, perform the following steps:
Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Double-click the Application Loader icon.
Click Next to start the installation process.
Type your BlackBerry smartphone password, if prompted, and click OK.
Click the check boxes next to the names of the applications you want to load, and then click Next.
Click Advanced, and then click the check box beside Erase all currently installed applications.
Click Next.
Click the check box next to Do not automatically backup the application data during the loading process.
Clear the box next to Backup and restore applications installed wirelessly.
Click Next > Finish.
When the process has completed, the message The loading operation was successful will appear. Click Close to return to BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

Unfortunately this Java error has no fix other than to reset/software update the handset, you will lose your information. There is no way around this...

Your mobile OS (operating system ) has been damage , you have to re install your OS with desktop manager

Your software needs to be restored. If you want to do it yourself, the good news is, it's not too hard to do. Just search instructions on the web. Here is an Blackberry Repair Guide that shows how to open a Blackberry. If you want somebody else to do it for you go to Blackberry Repair.

My bold 9700 needs to be reset, how do you do that, the screen is all wjite and it says JUM Error 102 reset


Download the Blackberry Desktop Manager from, after downloading run the setup and after completing this step. Connect your blackberry to your computer and open the BDM (Blackberry Desktop Manager). The application would recognize your blackberry, when it shows that your smart phone has been connected, you can now run the software. Make sure your computer is connected to the internet.

Run the software and allow it run. This process may take few hours to complete once done it would automatically reboot your phone and you are good to go.

First, download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from:

Once installed, connect your BlackBerry to your computer via the USB sync cable. Open Desktop Manager, and click the Application Loader. On the right, you will see Update your device software. Click the Start Button, and if your BlackBerry is not on the latest Handheld Software, an update will appear. Select the update, and run the install. Be sure to select the option that backs up and restores your data. Once started, do not shut down your computer, or disconnect the USB sync cable as this could damage the device.

Once completed, your BlackBerry will restart and you will have the latest version available. This version has been known to correct various issues.

If the issue is still present, then it could be hardware related, and may need to be repaired or replaced. I would then suggest contacting your Provider for Hardware Support.

JUM Error 102 came up on my Blackberry 8110 phone, selected reset

You need to go to and download the latest Blackberry Desktop Software for your phone. It can then reload and/or upgrade the OS on the phone. Yours appears to be corrupt so you would need to use this method or use an MFI Multiloader but that is your next option if this doesn't fix it for you.....
