My new router will not connect - Belkin Surf N300 Wireless N Router

You will need to connect up the new router, login to the new router and input your ISP username and password. Save the settings and reboot the router. It should then connect with your details.

Is it a new router? Your Linksys WRT120N needs resetting. Reset the Linksys router & reconfigure as per your requirement. I had two such routers giving trouble for the WiFi connectivity & which were new. You will be able to connect your router.

Either your web-browser has "cached" the web-page previously delivered by the TILGIN,
or your computer is still connected to the TILGIN.

In the former case, "reload" the web-page.
In the latter case, turn off the TILGIN router, and try again to connect to the ZYXEL router.
Also, check that your network-cables are correctly connected to one of the LAN ports on the ZYXEL router.

Is the laptop connecting wirelessly? If so, you need to open the network connection, search for access point, and then connect to the new wireless. If the laptop is connecting via Ethernet cable, then the router is not configured to work with your provider. Consult the manual for the new router and call your providers tech support for help configuring the new router.

Yes this is possiable. First you need to unplug the power to the Motorola and the new router. Second connect the ethernet cable from the Motorola to the internet port on your second router. This port may be colored in yellow, marked as modem, or the ethernet port by its self. Third connect a ethernet cable from the new router to a desktop or laptop this is only to configure the new router. Next power on the Motorola and wait for the online light to become solid. Then plug in the power to the new router. Give the router about two minutes to obtain ip address from the motorola then try to get on the internet with the pc connected with the ethernet cable. Now you can run the new router setup cd on the wired pc to setup router. Once completed remove ethernet cable to the pc and connect to either network you have and you are good to go. Any questions just ask.

1Unplug one of the network connections from your old router.

2Use this open port to connect the old router to the new routers WAN(wide area network) port. If your old router has an uplink port, use this instead of the last LAN(local area network) port and keep the last LAN port open.

3Connect the computers to the ports on the new router.

4Configure the new router settings to match the old router settings.

5Use IPConfig to check you current IP address

6Use this information to create a static IP on the computers connected to your network.

7Set the Default Gateway to the IP address of the router in which the computer connects.

8Check that all computers can access the internet and "see" each other on the network.

When you defined the name for Wireless connection with you new router, did you give it a new name? If this is a case then you can delete the old name in your available wireless network list in your lap top so it won't go back to the default one which is the old one, then you are all set.

You must enable first the Ethernet connection on your modem before your new router can allow to access the Internet by Ethernet.

Assuming "cannot connect to linksys router directly" means you cannot connect to a Wireless Lan managed by Linksys router,
1) try to connect new computer to LinkSys Router using a Lan cable, add new PC to your network.
2) recover protocol (WEP or WPA) and Key of WLAN (Passphrase or Key: TKIP or AES) either from other PC on same network either from your Router.
3) If you missed actual key you must connect to router and reset it to a new key to be eventually used for every connected device.
