Possibly, but you may no longer be able to view them on your camera. If you hadn't saved your pictures to your computer yet, try to do so. If your computer also has a problem seeing the pictures, you may need to use recovery software (see this link). Finally, after you've saved your photos to your camera, you should format the card in your camera to rejuvenate the card. If prompted to format your card by your computer, don't do it. It uses a different file handling structure than your camera.

Apparently the data on the card was corrupted when you used the card on the new laptop.
Try taking the card and putting it back in the new laptop and see if you can use the computer to copy the pictures off the card to the new laptop. That may be the only way that you can recover the pictures. If you're able to recover the pictures that way, then you can then put the card back into the camera and use the camera to format the card so that you can use it with the camera.
If you aren't able to recover the pictures, you may be able to send the card off to a data recovery service like Drive Savers; however, these services are very expensive.
In the future, make sure that when you use the card in your computer that you right-mouse click on the drive and select "Eject" before removing the card to help prevent future corruption of the card.

I have a Nikon D5300. I can see the photo count number increasing, but I cannot view the images and they are not going on the SD card. Where are they? The SD card is not full.

many small Nikon cameras have memory to store images ON THE CAMERA. If you have a memory card installed that the CAMERA CAN READ it will put images on the card. if the memory card is corrupted the camera will not use it.

First Backup all IMAGES on Memory Card to COMPUTER make sure you saved ALL images. This is IMPORTANT.

After you SAVED all images you PUT Memory card back in camera and FORMAT it (Format is in TOOL Menu that looks like a wrench)

Now if you can take an images and it saves to memory card you are done. To see if they go to MEMORY CARD. Turn off camera and remove MEMORY CARD and Check.

If it STILL does not work you may have a defective memory card.

Your mistake was in assuming your camera would recognize any information your computer put on the card. It won't because of the difference in the operating systems. To get your card to work properly in your camera again, you will have to format it in the camera.

Have a look at the pins at the back of the memory card reader. You may need a torch to see to the back. My kids stuck something in my computer card slot and bent the pins so my cards would not read.

Exilim camera, PNY optima SDHC memory card error

Hi

  1. 1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  2. 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  3. 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  4. 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  5. 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  6. 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

You have to make sure that the sd memory card you were using, hasn't been in another camera. If it was, your camera read the memory card differently, and it didn't show you had taken any. If this was the case, put the sd card back into the camera you took it from, and hopfully it will show on that.

If I wasn't even close, put you sd memory card in your computer, and hopefully, they will show up on there.

I'm sorry if I didn't get what you were saying, and didn't even answer you problem. I hope this helps.
