Had the same problem go to EBAY and buy chip, costs about $150 dollars see in YOUTUBE how to install it or get someone to do it. Dead pixels are from defective chip , i removed my own chip and could see the dead pixels in the mirror.

There is only one thing that can cause this problem in DLPs. The DMD board aka Digital Mirroring Device. This is what causes the problem of dead pixels, due to malfunctioning nano mirrors. Replacing it should resolve the problem but the board costs about 400-500$. Would you like to replace it yourself?

I can find it for you if you can get me the chassis number I have requested. As for replacing it yourself, the optical engine has to be disassembled completely to locate the DMD. If you are comfortable with that I can give you the instructions or even better a service manual.

Got to EBAY type "chip for mitsubishi wd 65833" costs about $150 , then go to YOUTUBE and type 'Installing chip on mitsubishi wd 65833"it is easier than you think, just remove screws on the back and remove case with chip, don't touch mirror of new chip. Take some pictures of back of tv so you remember.

Dead Cambridge Soundworks 740 radio

I spent $300 for the thing 10 yrs ago, then paid$125 for a display repair, now its crapping out repetitively and I refuse to pay ungodly sums to repair it again only to have the next thing fail in a few yrs. So, I plan to gut mine and convert to a speaker dock for my iPhone - small mini-amps are under $50 now. I plan to leave the speakers in the case since they are properly ported and sound great as is. I'll pull the speaker wires out the back and mount the amp on top - might not look pretty but it'll work just fine and some of these little amps have FM tuners, SD card readers and remotes. won't be as elegant but it'll sound good.

The screen shield of my mitsubishi HD 1080 diamond projection tv is scratched and shows rainbow color dots in some places. What can I do? Can I fix it? Replace it?

The outer screen on most models is clear and called a protective screen and prevents glare---if it has that it has 2 more screens behind it.

Getting at the outer on is not so easy---the entire frame for the screens has to be removed, the inner screens removed to get at the outer screen to remove it (if 3 screens you can do without the outer one except if it got scratched before--next will be the next screen behind it.

Check with mitsubishi to see if the screen that is damaged is available or not.

My lcd has 3 black lines, around 10-12 pixels up 3 days ago, and now it affected the pixels around it, in a span of 3 days, it multiplied to around 80 pixels that's just dead. what do i do? i dont want...

The only option in your case is to have the LCD replaced so Istrongly suggest you take it to your repair man. A reasonable price for that type of repair isabout 50 dollars plus the cost of the screen. You may find a price in the rangeof 50 to 100 dollars plus the cost of the screen though. Any more than that and I would find adifferent repair guy! Ebay is the best place to find the cost of your screen, just type in you model number and add the letters "LCD" to the end.

It depends on the size, location and how many dead pixels. If remember less that 5 they won't do nothing about them. Call the warranty people and find out. they will for the location, size of pixel and quantities. Good luck to you.

I have a Mitsubishi WD Y-657 that started out with a single white dot. Now there are over 50. This all happend in a week. I believe they are dead pixels. ?? What to do?

Dead pixels are a problem with LCD screens. You have a DLP set, so this is not possible. I unfortunately don't know anything else about this problem.

Mitsubishi Diamond Series CS-27609 problem...image looks "fisheye"

2 years later and I may have a solution for you

I has a similar problem and I didn't quite fix it but made it less noticeable.

Press menu and then the code 2-3-5-7, this enters a service menu. Press Audio/Video to go between the options to get to options 40-50 to adjust geometry. Be sure to write what setting there on before you change it (even if they're wrong) just in case.

Its just trial and error from there, and hope I can still help.
