PRS means that the heater is not sensing pressure in the plumbing.
Make sure that the pump basket is clean.
Make sure pump is flowing freely as it should (no blocked skimmers or returns)
Make sure filter pressure is where it should be. If this is a cartridge filter, remove and clean the cartridges. If its a sand filter or a DE filter just do a long backwash.
Make sure any heater bypasses are closed.

If you know the water is flowing freely, and you still see this code, you must replace the pressure switch. It should cost about $35 for the part at a retail store. It is located on the top side panel opposite of the water connections. It looks like a round disk screwed into the header, with two wires coming from it. Just unscrew the old part, and using teflon tape, screw in the new part.
Connect wires, and restart the heater. It does not matter in which place you put the wires.

Heat pump?

There could be several issues at work here.

  • First, is the heat indicator light showing on the topside?
  • Is the pump running but temp is not rising?
  • Any error codes displayed on the topside panel?

The drop in water temperature could be caused by a faulty temp sensor or faulty high limit sensor.

Check those items out and see what you come up with.

Spa thermal overheating

Turn off all power to the hot tub as soon as you realize it is overheating. The spa should have an automatic shut off when the water temperature reaches about 112 degrees fahrenheit. Call your hot tub dealer or manufacturer for service options. There are a variety of conditions that could lead to the overheating of your hot tub, but may differ in various hot tub models and brands. Check the water level of the hot tub. Low water levels could be the culprit for the over heating, so you may just need to add more water to the hot tub.
Check the shut-off valves in the hot tub. If they are closed while the hot tub heater is on, it could cause the water to reach unsafe temperatures.
Clean the hot tub filter. A dirty filter could be blocking the flow of water, causing the water to sit in the hot tub and overheat.
Turn the power back on after finding the problem and talking to the hot tub dealer. The hot tub will probably not start back up until the water reaches a safe temperature

What does the "FL" code

Fl stands for FLOW error code. This means that either the pump is not pushing enough water, or the pressure switch that senses water flow through the heater is not functioning. This are inexpensive and easy to fix yourself if it is just the pressure switch. Look on or near your heating element for a small disk switch with two wires coming out of it. Remove and replace this part.

Raypak 2100 pool heater won't heat, PRS and HL2 error codes.

Well, I replaced the pressure switch with no joy. I tried all 5 levels of pressure 1-5 and every wiring combination. Finally, I returned the new $70 pressure switch and took the 2 wires and tied them together (jumped them). Here's the only downside...If you run your pump in backwash, recirc, waste, or any mode that would cause water to bypass the heater it MUST BE OFF. Otherwise, let it ride. It's working great and I hope to go into October weather permitting.

Stopped heating, where is the heating element

turn off the electricity. unhook the two wires going to the heater. Hook up a meter to the two connectors. set the meter to ohms and ohm the heater out. If it has an open in it replace the heater.

Jaccuzi hot tub will not heat?

sounds like it maybe the heater again. Have you pulled it out and checked the ohms? it should be at least 10.5 ohms
it could be the thermostat or the pressure switch - if either of those are not working it will not heat either.
