Question about Microwave Ovens

Open Question

I have a Rival Excel Mixer, which I understand became the Kenwood. The K Beater is leaving black residue after I wash it. Nothing I do will get rid of it, so can't use it. I also went to use the mixer a month or so ago, and found a little oil? in the bottom of the bowl. Could the mixer leak oil? It was pretty clear, and if I don't need to worry about leakage, I'll use it. Thank you. joyce

SOURCE: My mixer works purfectly, but

This is the solid cream lubricant that is oven the gears to make them run smoothly and long last.

In order to have as liquid oil underneath means that the mixer overheated and that make the lubricant to become like oil.

As you may understand you need to leave gaps between uses so it can be cool down a bit and avoid overheating since this will have more serious results like a broken teeth of the gears or even motor overheat.

However there is also a possibility that gearbox need to be swipe out from old lubricant and place a new one.

My Kenwood does not cream butter and sugar to 'light and creamy' mixture. I am using the standard large bowl that came with the mixer and have tried both the wire whisk and Kbeater. The mixture...

Hi Julie
It could be that you are using too much sugar, therefore making a more coarse mixture. Beat your butter first, then add the sugar until your mix is as you want it. The Beater would be the proper tool for this. The whisk is for meringue or whipped cream type mixes.
I hope this helps you to some degree

Our beko dwd540w doesnt wash properly every wash the plates and cups ect have bits on them

The problem is most likely that there is still water residue at the bottom of your machine. If the machine is not fully drained it picks up some of the residue and sprays that onto the dishes during the final rinse, leaving an unhealthy and unsightly film on everything.
Remove the bottom strainers plates and make sure that the outlet pipe the pipe is not kinked, that there is nothing obstructing the pipe or the pump or selector valve. If possible back flush through the outlet pipe and try draining the machine again before using it again.

Can i use the kenwood chef with the dough hook for the second kneading in bread making

If you use the dough hook it will remove the air built up in the rising dough. The Kenwood should have a beater or paddle for that.
I prefer to use my hands and give the bread a good beating!
