Question about GE Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

I have a new (2009) microwave GE JVM1750SM1SS and suddenly turn off. I turn off and back on the microwave main breaker. I checked the outlet and it has energy. I plugged in back the microwave but it doesn't work, the screen is black. It seems has no energy coming into the microwave. Can I do something more?

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

I have a GE Spacemaker microvave oven that was working perfectly for the past 4 years. When installed, we were told that the outlet did not work, so to get the microwave working, the cord was pulled out...

Perhaps the microwave's main supply fuse has blown.Open the cover & check it in the power supply section.Be careful & discharge the big capacitor first as there is very very high voltage present inside even after switching off.

My GE JVM1750DM blew an internal breaker or fuse when I attempted to remount a lamp lighting the stove top; it had fallen out of its mount. Where is the internal reset or breaker located, and how do

There are fuses inside the unit. No internal breaker. A lot of the time that damages the main circuit board too. Blowing the trace that supplies the power to the bulb off of the board. will probably need a new baord, or someone to repair that one.

After a power - cut the Micro can not be switch on. What can we do? Type: GE JVM1750SM1SS

A mains "spike" has probably broken the fuse. Replace the internal fuse if you are qualified and competant to do so, otherwise get a repair person in to repair it.

Microwave won't turn on. Seems like it is not getting power. I checked breaker. I am looking for a fuse. You know where one is? It is a GE Spacemaker(2 yrs old) model # JVM1440WH04

  • Make sure that the microwave is plugged into a grounded outlet. It must be a 3-prong outlet.
  • Make sure the clock is set.
  • Check to see if a programming sequence was entered. Sometimes improper programming or a program sequence such as delay start can cause the touch panel to be non-responsive. Unplug microwave or turn off house circuit breaker for 30 seconds. Plug back in, or reset circuit breaker, and try reprogramming unit.
  • Check the house circuit breaker or fuse box. If the microwave is DEAD and there is no display and nothing works- the problem could be a blown fuse or tripped breaker.

No Power at all

If it came installed in the house, it may have its own breaker switch. I'd check the breaker. Have any outlets in the kitchen gone out as well? This would support the breaker switch idea.

Hope this helps.
