Given the age of the camera I would recommend replacing it, this is only a 3.1 megapixel camera. You can buy camera's that are easily twice that for about 50-60$.
Thank you,
Lee

How can I fix the autofocus on my Quantaray 7-300 lens.

Sorry to say but the lens needs to be sent in for repair. To repair or replace the AF motor is usually around the $200.00 range. Do not try to fix it yourself.

I just put all these sites for you to get some feel about the work. In case you want to try to replace the LCD system yourself, try it. But on your own risk. First of all you need to have some technical background, patience and time.

Buy a used camera (sold for parts, with good lens ) from ebay.com. Buy a jewellers screw driver set for $1 from Dollar store. Start your adventure.

I dropped our Kodak Z710

Doubt it. Kodaks are notorious for the lens becoming knocked out of line when dropped. I had an older model that a child knock off a 3 foot high table and it never worked again. Best thing is to find a local repair shop, call in to Kodak for assistance, or look for another camera.

Lens error 122

Hey blondgal12,
From your description you should most likely have your camera looked at by an authorized service technician and get and estimate on a repair done. The manufacturer usually has a list of authorized service technicians in your local area, or you could try looking in the yellow pages. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital Cameral Lens Problem

Adeliak,
This service is free, with advice provided from hobbyists and knowitalls (like me hehehe). Were you asked by someone for a fee? Recommend reporting them to Fixya.

As for your specific problem, lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension.

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for about half of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

The following blog outlines some repair options for a lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try:

you seemed to have broken a vital part. Nothing for us or you to do. A repair- I feel will be very expensive Checkout Canon support- but I fear you will not like the response.
