My toshiba satellite pro m10 s405 screen looks messed up dont know what the problem is one minute its clear the next minute it starts to get like dots and lines all over the screen

Hi

Thank you for your query

From what you are describing it sounds like the ribbon cable or the LCD screen is at fault

However to be absolutley sure please can you hook up a external monitor to the laptop and then press the fn + F5 key (it may not be the F5 the symbol on top of the key will look like 2 screens), this will move the screen away from the laptop screen to the monitor screen

If everything looks ok on there then unfortunatley your screen is faulty and will need to be replaced

If it is not then your graphics card may be faulty and the unfortunatley the entire motherboard may need replacing

Please book the laptop into a reputable PC shop if the above diagnosis shows a symptom

I hope this has been useful

Toshiba Satellite L310 problem , display cannot appears

If the screen went blank after the driver install, sometimes clicking the mouse on the screen will bring the picture back. It sounds like the monitor is having a conflict with the resolution the driver is throwing out. Reboot the laptop and when you see the Toshiba splash screen, tap F8 until you see the multiple boot menu. Scroll to Safe Mode with networking and reboot. If the screen comes up, go to the control panel > System > hardware > display adapter > click on the plus sign and double click the reported adapter.click on driver tab and select roll back driver > click yes to any prompts and click ok. Reboot normally and see if that clears the problem.
