The small piece you refer to is actually a magnet that is mounted inside a plastic case. I would suggest the easiest way to replace it is to go to a nearby Radio Shack or similar electronics store and have them show you their stock of magnetic contacts for hardwired security systems. These contacts come in two pieces; a contact and a magnet. Match the magnet that most likely resembles the one you are missing and mount on your window/door with either screws or double sided sticky tape. Hope this helps.

Window will not roll up

Another problem with likely possibilities. Sometimes the motors become defective. With one model, the drain holes were placed wrong. A smaller sized breaker solved the problem. The motors are relatively easy to replace. Try using a piece of PVC to hold the window up when replacing the motor assembly.

How do i replace rear passenger window

Did they break the larger window? or the smaller one?
The larger one is the easy one, remove the door panel, adjust the window mechanism until you can see the bolts on the bottom window track, undo these bolts and remove the old track, To fit the new window it's simply a matter of removing the side window guide rail and sliding the window in on an angle and wiggle it around until you get it inside the door, the seat it in the rail and replace the guide rail. Then bolt the window to the mechanism and re-assemble the door panel.

If it's the smaller one you need to remove the larger window first then remove the frame between the smaller and larger piece of glass, You can then replace the glass.

I would suggest calling around and you may get a good price for an expert to replace it as it is a pain to do.

The little white part with one hole is the thermal fuse, similar to the cutoff but service a different purpose.

The cut off will blow if there is lack of air flow, typically a plugged vent or lint screen.

The thermal fuse will blow if the exhaust temperature is too high. The reason the temperature is too hot can be one of two things.

#1 and most likely is the component right next to the thermal fuse, it is the operating thermostat.

#2 A shorted heat element that is on all the time, this can be checked by turning the timer knob to 30 minutes on the timed dry cycle, close the door but do not start the dryer. Open the door after about 2 minutes and see if the drum is hot. If it is not the element is okay.

I hope this helps

Door ajar warning on 1998 lincoln continental

just do some shots of WD-40 in the door latch. Three good shots, then open and close door about 30 times. and while you're at it, do it on all of them. I had the same problem. Fixed it in about 5 minutes.

How to remove the door panel on my Volvo V70 (1999) in order to plug in the wires from the door electric mirror (replaced with a 2nd hand one, old one broken!).

On the inside trim, you can remove screws (these screws may be covered by filler pieces or may be visible, or they may require you pry a plastic piece off that covers the screws) that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls.

2005 volvo s60 inside door latch broke

That is not true.
The handle fell off on the inside. You can remove all the screws, remove window and lock controls. Then take a large flat-tipped screwdriver gently pry off door panel. Pull up and off when loose. You will now have access to inside off door and put the rod back in the handle hole. If the plastic holder piece is broke you will need another one. Cheap.

I have a Danby DPAC10071 and am trying to install the vertical window installation kit. I don't understand how I'm supposed to put in the sliders without covering the holes that allow the air to come in...

I eventually just gave up and cut off a piece of one of my extensions. Not sure if there's a better method, but that worked just fine for me. Plus, I still have the other, full sized one for when I want to move the AC to the patio door.
