BTW, the HP LaserJet 3100 all-in-one is not even supported by HP's own
JetDirect print servers! Check out
http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/cpos upport/get_doc.pl?SNI=hpjetdir ec8197&LC... Obviously, HP designs and manufactures print servers (JetDirect 70x,
170x, 300x, ...) which are not usable with their very own printer
products!
Just to summarize: The HP LaserJet 3100
a) comes with Windows-only software (as in "no Linux, no Unix")
b) HP doesn't want to publish the interface, so projects like
hpoj.sourceforge.net can't provide drivers for Unix
c) isn't supported by Linksys' printer products (most likely because
of b))
d) isn't supported by HP's own JetDirect print server products
If someone from HP is reading this: Could you guys possibly change the
policy on b)? I certainly would apprechiate it.
