  1. Connect your computer to the wireless router. Although you can access the router wirelessly, it is better to use an Ethernet cable to directly connect to your router so that you can securely adjust router settings. Plug the Ethernet cable into the appropriate Ethernet jack on your computer. Plug the other end of the cable into any one of the open Ethernet ports on the back of your wireless router.

  2. Open your computer's web browser. In the URL address field, enter the IP address for your wireless router. This information should be contained in your router's manual. If you cannot find it, enter "" as the address. This is usually the default IP address for most routers.

  3. Enter the username and password for your router. This should also be supplied in the router's manual. If you don't have this information, go to and find the brand and model of your router. This site lists the default login information for most wireless routers.

  4. You should now be able to see your wireless router settings. You can configure your network ports, as well as SSID (wireless network name) and passwords.

What does error code 50300 mean. we cannot connect to internet.

Your error code 50330 is usually caused by incorrect internet connection settings, such as network name, WEP/WPA keys, or any manual settings.

To solve this error, try each of the possible methods:

  • Ensure you have correctly entered basic information such as network name (SSID) and WEP/WPA keys.
  • Try changing the channel of your wireless router to either channel 1 or channel 11 which can increase download speeds. Be sure to test both channels to see which works better or faster.

Cannot connect to internet. Wireless connection indicates it is working, but Internet Exploer indicates cannot display the webpage.

This is usually because the wireless key code (password) was entered incorrectly or has got corrupted. Go to "view wireless networks" (from the icon at bottom right of your screen) find the one it says it is connected to and click "disconnect". Then re-boot the PC (not strictly necessary but a good precaution), go back to "view wireless networks", find the correct one for your router and connect to that with the correct code key. I have seen it where the code key has been changed from the one written on the sticker on the router and if that is the case the "fix" will be more complicated.

Also, if this does not work, go to "control panel" then "Internet options" and then "advanced" and find and click on "reset". This puts Internet Explorer back to the default settings and often fixes it (though NOT if yours is an incorrect wireless key issue as talked about above) - Your home page will change to MSN but that is easy to change to your preference.

Hope this helps

Find pass key for our lap top for the family network.

Log into your router's web interface, if possible through a computer connected to the router by cable, by starting an internet browser and navigatng to its maintenance IP address, usually set by many manufacturers to or An authentication request will come up. As you haven't speciffied your router model, there are routers whose both user name and password fields are set to 'admin'. Other routers use 'admin' as user name only, requiring the password field to be left empty. Once you get into the router's web interface, go to the wireless settings, and change the wireless passphrase to a new one of your choice. Make sure to change the other devices, which use to connect to the router, to the same new passphrase.
If you need further details, please, provide your router model and manufacturer.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.

How do i change my network key for my wireless router as i believe someone else is using it some how.. please help ??

Open internet explorer or alternate webrowser
type into the address bar. enter. login to your router settings. default username: root
and leave the password empty. on the settings page select the wireless config tab from the top then choose the subheading security. In here you should see the option for wpa-psk key or wep encryption key. this is your wireless password, delete whats in there, create a new one of your choice and apply settings. These steps are best done with the ethernet cable plugged in as changing your wireless password will disconnect your current wireless network.

Keeps saying pxe e61 media test failure on boot

Your PC is trying to boot from your ethernet port(internet). It is trying to see if it can boot to that before it boots to your Hard Drive. It is normally used in businesses that have PC's that boot from a Server on the Network. Home users don't usually use PXE.

To change this go into your BIOS.(F2, or F12, or DELETE, or some key when you first turn the PC on) And you should see something called boot order, change the order to boot from the Hard Drive FIRST, CD Drive SECOND, and PXE THIRD.

Or you could turn the PXE off, you should find something in your BIOS like "Onboard Devices" and it should show "Ethernet" or "Network" as an option with choices like "ON w/ PXE", "ON", and "OFF". Change it to just "ON". And you should be fine. If you turn it "OFF" then you won't be able to use the ethernet(internet) port at all. Just set it to "ON".

Not a big deal, if it can't boot from the Network it will go to the next bootable device, which is probably your Hard Drive. It won't hurt you or your PC; it just takes an extra few seconds for it to boot to Windows instead of the Network.

Wireless network password

Please follow the steps on a computer connected to the router so as to check the network key:

1. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
2. Access the router usually by typing '' or '' in the address bar.
3. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that Username and Password are case sensitive).
4. Click on Wireless Settings (under Setup) from the left menu.
5. Check if WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) or WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) is selected under 'Security Options'.
6. If WPA-PSK is selected, copy the code entered in the passphrase.
7. If WEP is selected, copy the code entered in the key that has been checked.

This is the code required for connecting the wireless computer to the router's wireless network.

In some cases, for security reasons the passphrase might show as asterisks. In this case type a new Password and click apply. You will then have to use the same Password for all the wireless devices connecting to the network.
Hope, this helps.

Not prompted for network security key

Under 'preffered networks', which can be found on the Wireless networls TAB in advanced settings, you will see your network there. Click on it and then hit properties. Under the 'Association' TAB, you will see network authentication, choose WPA-PSK or WPA, but I will imagine that your key is a Pre-shared key. Enter it there. Data encryption will be TKIP and not AES. Go to connection TAB, and make sure the box is checked in that section. If these steps fail, then you can always change your encryption to WEP. You can do this using a computer which connects to your internet through the WPA key. Once connected on that PC, open up command prompy using the command cmd in the RUN box when you click on the START TAB. A black box will open, simply type ipconfig and look for "default gateway" will have a number with a few dots, like this one: Enter this code into your internet browser search bar, and hit enter. Your internet providers interface will show up, you can find a tab which will have something to do with wireless security, and there you can change the WPA to WEP, with a WEP key of your choice. If you are prompted for a password then you should know it! Sometimes, the usernames can be simply 'admin'. If you manage to change your security to WEP, you can use your laptop!

All the best.
