Extend the life of your phone - Motorola 5.8Ghz - MD700 series

** Extend the life of your phone - Motorola 5.8Ghz - MD700 series **
PROBLEM:
We got tired of buying so many of the replacement/rechargable batteries for our Motorola 5.8Ghz phone. So I started labeling the replacement batteries by taking a permanent ink pen (aka. 'sharpie pen') and writing the date of install directly onto the battery. I noticed that I was buying replacement batteries after just a few months.

SOLUTION & EXPECTED OUTCOME:
After some searching online, I discovered that you can purchase stronger batteries. We did this and have extended the from months to years. Currently we're still running on batteries that were installed in January, 2008. That's almost two years on the same battery.

We purchased our replacement 3.6V2000mAh batteries from "SmartBatts" - if you need more info, or encounter any difficulty locating the replacement batteries, then reply back to this post and I'll help!

thanks,
Chris I.

Battery will not hold a charge

Sadly phone batteries don't have the long life they used too. There isn't a lot you can do besides purchase a new battery. Samsung only covers the battery for one year from date of purchase, so you might be able to get a replacement if you have had it for less than a year. Otherwise, eBay is your friend. You can extend the life of the battery by changing some habits of how you use the device.
- Let the battery run completely down about (dead phone) about once a month. This helps ensure a longer life.
- Try to avoid using car chargers. The power provided isn't always the most stable and can greatly shorten the life of your battery.
Once you get a new battery, don't charge it right away. Let it run down the first time to empty before first time charge. That will ensure a long, healthy battery life.

Battery dead, even after recharge. how long should battery last before it must be replaced?

Hi,

the life span of a battery depends on the cell of the life.If the battery is a genuine battery, it can last for about a day because the make of the phone you are using.

An LG phone does not normally have very strong battery life, but at least it can last for a day before recharging it.

The battery of the phone you are using i think the battery cell of the phone is weak that is while it dies so quickly, so it need a replacement.

Take care.

Battery Issue

Firstly i doubt that your phone battery is damaged. To check this please go to your nearest mobile Service center & check for battery life. If it is damaged then you have to replace the battery to new one. If your phone is within the warranty period, your battery replacement will be done free of cost Else you have to bare the cost. Ther is also a possibilty of your phone chager to get damaged. Please check for the same with other compactible phone.

The battery on the j700 will not charge up keeps pausing and saying paused due to battery life what am i doing wrong

Your battery is going bad, it will no longer hold a charge. There is nothing you can do about it but get a replacement.

Battery life can be shortened by excessive draining, and recharging.
Also faulty manufacturing can cause this.

Sorry to hear about your luck, and thank you for choosing Fixya!

I don't have a problem just a question.

The lifetime of the phone is probably unimportant. That is, the phone will last many many years if you take care of it (like most electronic devices). What is important is how long will the battery last under normal circumstances before you need to replace it. I would say that with regular use, you should expect more than one year, to almost two years of use before the battery starts to not hold a charge and will require replacement.
