What I would try is to spray some WD40 on the pin first and then see if you can find a small screwdriver or punch and try pushing the pin in further to release the broken blade. It doesn't sound as though it is anything major, maybe a burr on the side of the pin or possibly rust or debris. DON"T hit the pin because you might damage it or push it in and never get it back out. Looked at a diagram and it appears that they used roll pins to hold the clamp in place so it might be that one is cracked or mushroomed and you might have to drive them out. I suggest that you go to Searspartsdirect.com and type in your model number to look at the same diagram.

SOURCE: Blade won't lock.
There is a ball lock in it and you have to twist the ball lock but if the ball lock is frozen generally WD40 will help unfreeze it and work it until the ball is free and should work just fine.

oohh, that a tough one. you gotta, very carefully peal back the hand gaurd, the rubber where you hold onto it, at. Then releas the screws undeneath. Seems like you should be able to cycle the saw to its furthest out position, then remove the blade gaurd, uning some pliers of some sort you should be able to make the release, release.
Hope this helps

Sometimes if you take the set screw completely out and then use a flat blade small screw driver to wege open the throat you can use a dental pick to get it out. Spray it first with wd40.
Hope you weren't using those cheap blades from harbor freight - that is how I learned that trick - bought the dental picks from harbor freight.
