Question about Televison & Video
I assume that the bulb was correctly installed, no dust was allowed in the optical engine and the lamp power setting has ben set to maximum - in Menu > Preference > Lamp Power set to Brighter Image.
The color wheel has nothing to do with that - unless of course the plastic coloured filters have been so burned by the heat of the bulb that they no longer allow the light to pass thru them. But i think you would have smelled that.
No, this is a ballast problem - it no longer generates the correct voltage so the tube is below its normal functioning point so it delivers a lot less light. You will have to replace it.
