Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

That's an expensive repair for 30 days warranty. In general if the LCD screen has to be replaced the set may be considered 'totaled'. Look at the price of a new tv set and consider selling the old one for parts.
You can call local tv repair shops.
and get a second opinion.
Something else you can try. Your tv seems to work otherwise so turn on the set and place a bright flashlight against the screen. You should be able to see moving images around the edge of the flashlight. Try several places on the screen. If you can see something, the lcd is probably ok. The problem is the back lighting.
Get into the menu. Check the backlight value to make sure it was not accidentally turned down/off.
This set uses LEDs and not fluorescent tubes for back light. There is no fluorescent/mercury tubes or inverter board.
Whatever controls the LEDs is what should be looked at. I am not sure if it is a separate board or the main board itself. It would be listed in the service manual which I do not have.
You can ask the tv repairman.
Boards are sold separately. Some places to look at plus others;
