I'd suggest looking up the exact model number on the sony website and downloading the latest drivers. If this does not work you could try installing the the software using compatibility mode in Windows 7.

Cannot view my webcam vgn-cr290e even my driver was installed can you fix how fix windows 7 my operating system

WebCam Companion® Software is required for your Sony Notebook to work with Windows® 7. Click on the following link to go to Sony's eSupport web page and download the utility. This utility installs the WebCam Companion software for compatibility with the Microsoft® Windows® 7 operating system. Once the software is installed, your webcam problem should be resolved.

When I try to connect my Seagate Free Agent Pro backup drive using USB to my new Sony BDP S570 DVD player I receive a message USB device connected is not support. It worked with a Western Digital drive

So I would suggest a few things for this issue. First check the format of the drive you are trying to plug in. You can do this on your Mac by using Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility). Plug in the drive and open Disk Utility and click on the partition. At the bottom of the Disk Utility window it lists the information about the drive. You are specifically interested in the "Format" item. If your drive is formatted Mac OS Extended or some other Mac format you probably cannot use it on the Sony Blue Ray player. Most device look for and are only compatible with Windows type formats. For example, NTFS or FAT32. The best way to test if this is really the problem, or a systemic problem with the BR player would be to pick up a USB jump drive somewhere (they are cheap if you don't have one just laying around.) Format the jump drive to a FAT32 or NTFS file system using Disk Utility. Copy the files you want to view to the jump drive (Be sure to check the file type compatibility chart on the Sony website or in the manual and make sure what you are trying to view matches those types.) Plug that in and see if you are successful. Also there was a few notes on forums that Sony doesn't support actual hard drives on the BR players which would suggest that they only support Jump drives and FAT32 because of the file size limitations it brings. Try this and let me know how it goes. Attached is a picture of my Free Agent drive formatted for Mac in Disk Utility .jp_2010.jpg

I am having a sony camcoder dcdr 101 e the software received alonfgwith it image mixer is not compatible to window 7. Please advise / privide me free image mixer software compatible to window 7 so that I...

If you captured to MiniDV you do not need to install the Image Mixer software.
Hook your camera up to the computer via Firewire (not USB) and use video editing software to "capture" the video. The capture process basically plays back your video in real-time and sends it to your hard drive. You'll need a lot of hard drive space available for this, though. 1 hour of MiniDV video is equal to 13GBs of hard drive space. So you may want to also get a fast external hard drive.
For a free video editing program for your computer, download this: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-movie-maker?os=other

Sony Handicam DCR-HC40E not getting recognised by Vista

Hello
I found a solution installing the generic Sony USB driver in Vista Ultimate using compatibility mode (Windows XP SP2).

Usb driver problem

the fault lies with the company for not creating vista drivers.

but calm down, dude. Is there something wrong with using XP? everyone knows vista is rife with driver issues, surely you didn't ENTIRELY expect something made for XP would definitely work on Vista? That's just a bit naive.

I think the issue here ("I am having problems with the compatability with my sony handicam dcr-30 and windows vista.") is in attempt to acquire drivers or workarounds for the problem.

I myself have a slightly different model, but have heard that using a firewire cable, in conjunction with a mysterious 'work in XP mode' function hidden somewhere in Vista (Ultimate?) has proved to be a success with some Sony Handycams.

This is the sort of thing we're meant to be talking about here, and nobody's gonna benefit from merely bashing the reputation of the company responsible, no matter how frustrating it may be.
