you may have a defective fan making the noise, or ice building up due to a defrosting issue, where the ice builds up and starts to hit the fan...

A general whining or whirling.

The fan inside the rear of thr freezr compartment sometimes needs oil (3n1, sewing machine, or ATF works well, a few drops) on the bushings. You will hear it loudly when you open the freezer door? If so unplug unit remove freezer back wall (inside of freezer must be empty and shelves out) oil where fan shaft goes thru the bushings, front and rear. Reassemble and plug back in. The motor can continue like that for a long time without oil but if you lubricate it you will save the motor and keep it from locking up completely. ATF is best in this situation.

Not freezing or cooling

There should be a small relay switch near the compressor. Sometimes dust or (ugh) a bug may get in there and block the relay from starting the compressor.
