Press MENU. Use left/right to select the Capture tab. Use up/down to select "Color Mode".

In general, I suggest shooting in color. A photo-editing program gives you much more control over the conversion to black-and-white, allowing you to adjust brightness, contrast, etc.

The dvd will only playback in black and white not color

I do not have any experience with this system, but the first thing I would try is to use the remote control to manually adjust the screen settings. I would try adjusting the color saturation level (if it is set to zero, the screen will be black and white). If it is set to midrange, then try looking at the display mode, in case there is a "black & white" screen mode. Also, look in the back of the owner's manual for a troubleshooting chart, which might have this problem listed. Try calling the store where you bought it and ask the salesman for help. If it is under warranty, call the company support line (usually a free call). Good luck.

Monochrome pictures on my e-420 when using the M, S, A & P settings.

Set the picture mode to one of the color modes. The MSAP settings allow you to control every aspect of your picture, including whether you get color or b&w pics.
Full details are in the "Picture mode" section on page 63 of the manual.

How to change the default power on copy mode from color to black & white.

I'm not familiar with this particular model but if it's like the IR color copiers this should help you. First select the black mode for the copier, Then press the additioanl function key, then copy settings, then look for standard settings. I can't remember if you have to use the arrow keys at the bottom to see this. Anyway select standard settings, then STORE, then then confirm these are the settings you want then YES. Press reset and see if the settings are what you wish.

How to set the default copy mode on a Canon irc3380 so that it starts up in black & white copy mode rather than color?

First adjust main screen as you want if to be (ie black and white mode). Once you have your default selected go to additional functions. Go to the copy selection and with in that list there is the section to save default settings. Now when you restart machine B/W and all other setting will be default. Good Luck

Kodak ESP 5 runs out of ink after about 40 pages of standard text black & white documents. Also the color ink level is dropping, but no color is being used (the printer is set for black & white...

As far as the quantity of black & white - to get more out of it - go to start menu.. Click on on settings,, then printers,, Right click on the ESP 5,, click on printing preferences,, then clcik on draft,, then click on (at the top) advanced,, click on black & white.. Then click on apply then ok..
Now - every time you print it will be in this mode.. If you want to print in color - you will have to choose that each time..
For you black & white docs - this will print faster & use allot less ink..
As far as your color issue & puddling - It could be the printer head.. If it is new enough - call Kodak & maybe get a replacement.. If to old - maybe keep the color cartrige out and caped with the plastic caps until you need to print color.. Snap it in & out as needed..
I hope this helped..

Pic`s wrong colors

you need to check
1) same color ink of the cartridge almost empty, change a new ink cartridge or refill the color ink (there is only one ink cartridge)
2) the cartridge ink channel dryer and constipated, take out the cartridge put the bottom surface touch down clean water (a little) 1 hr, then set back if the cartridge has enough ink.
