I would check for obstruction in the path of the door spring areas. If appropriate, remove the bottom access panel (typically 2 screws); open/close the door in attempt to observe the inside bottom left and right for the clicking sound.
If not already done so, also ensure your dish-washer is raised of the floor a little bit; leveled and properly secured to counter top with 2 screws.

Here's a suggestion that I use all the time. Sears carries most brands now. Their service and parts departments are 2nd to none. Go to sears.com - parts - see if your kitchenaid is listed, if so you will find all the parts you need with super delivery right to your door.

I DONT THINK THERE IS A ASSEMBLY MANUAL BUT THE DOOR HINGES IS LOCATED UNDER THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE OF THE MACHINE. YOU HAVE TO CHECK THE HINGE PULLEY THEN CHECK THE LOCK.
