Question about Weber Genesis Silver A Grill

1 Answer

I thoroughly cleaned my Weber Genesis Silver A and have a full tank of gas. It won't get hotter than 250-300 degrees. Flames are blue.

You might have air block. When turning off the grill, leave one burner on and shut the tank valve.
When grill cools, close the remaining valve. When restarting the grill, open the tank valve, then the start burner, then the igniter. When first burner is going, open remaining two valves to preheat the grill.

This has worked on two different grills.

This is a good solution, but did not work in my case. Weber sent me a new regulator and hose. I'm way past the warranty period, but they sent it for free. Now the grill works perfectly.

I've had my grill for a few years and when i turned it on last night, i could barely see the flames and i had both burners on hi. I cleaned (took a wire brush) to where the flames get out and still...

You may have to recheck the tank for full. If you forgot to turn off the tank after the last time you used the grill, the tank could have leaked down. I always keep a spare full tank for just those types of problems. If the tank is full, then the regulator may have a problem. That grill should be able to get over 300 degrees.

Burner flames don't get hot, like not enough gas.

Try this, Turn off the tank. Disconnect it. Reconnect it. Turn tank valve back on very slowly and then see if you get bigger flame size.

It doesn't seem like the burners are getting a full supply of gas. Flames are very small. Tank is full

The tank might be too full. Those guys that fill the propane tanks will sometimes overfill them. Try letting out some gas from the bleeder valve screw until you do not get any more liquid.

Yes,it definitely sounds like the regulator to me.First check to see if the regulator is still under warranty,if not replace regulator with a Weber or comparable one and try again.
