Question about Canon PIXMA Pro 9500 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

I'm printing A3-forms with coloured PDF's. All colours are printed beautifully but for some reason the printer (Canon Pixma Pro 9500 II) reduces black to allmost none. The cartridge is as good as new and completely full. My other printer (Canon Pixma MP600) prints the images perfectly but can not handle A3-forms. I hope you can tell me what to do with the 9500 II so it will print black as well as the other colours.

Clean the print head..and remove the black one and take a look not to be faulty ...replace it if you have another one ...or give it a good shake and try again ...If you have the reset procedure ..it will be good if you reset it ..and after that try again and see if it works...
take a look in the maintenance menu ..(mode) ...for most canon this mode is induced by removing the power cord ..press the power and keep it pressed..and while keeping it down insert the power cord..keep the power down and press 2ce the reset button ..for other you have to power it with the front lid open ...and choose with the arrows from the menu the reset you want ..You may have the factory reset in the main menu if it is a newer model ...take a look and if yo have proceed ..This way you will get rid of any strange settings it may have ..But usually it is about a defective cartridge ..or toner being dried in it ..

Your printer driver is corrupt. Go to Canon's web site to get another download. Uninstall the old printer driver before installing the new driver or it won't work.

My Canon Pro9000 MarkII prints photos with a red tint

You probably haven't calibrated your monitor to show the correct colours, so in whatever photo programme you're using, you're setting the red tones too high. Test this by first not calibrating your monitor, but turning down all the red tone until it looks washed out. Print this and see if it's better. If so, set your monitor to a cooler colour temperature. If the result is no better, check your print dialogue settings to make sure you are using an appropriate colour profile. And, for example, if you're using Photoshop, tick 'let Photoshop manage colours' in the advanced profile settings box. Hope this helps. I doubt there's anything wrong with the printer.

recalibrate the printhead, clean the printhead. In the printer driver you need to select the right paper.

Colour don't match the screen light blue on the screen will be light pink when printed

If you have used non canon ink tanks that will be the problem.'

If you have used genuine canon ink then you may have placed the tanks in the wrong place.

Also try using genuine canon paper as that could also be the problem.

Wont print photos the right colour

There should be something like a printer properties menu. Find it and adjust the colour controls to manual and reduce the magenta settings etc. Also make certain you have the right type of paper selected on your printer, to the one you are using.

Canon pixma mp 460

On the printer driver setup - select manual on the colour/intensity on the main tab.
You will then see a colour adjust system with a picture of a boy to get it looking right for you.
When set up it should reduce the red output.

Why does it keep running out of color ink, while printing only Black and White?

Whilst you rarely print in colour, its important to know that you should try to print in colour at least once a week. This will reduce the risk of your colour nozzles blocking up.

Many people have gone out to replace their 'hardly used' colour cartridges when they dont work, thinking that they have dried up, when infact its simply blocked nozzles.

If you want to keep your colour nozzles and ink ready to run, just do a full colour alignment every 1-2 weeks. Minimal ink usage there and you keep your Canon MP780 running well!

My canon i960 is printing only green

I had this problem. If I tried to print a black& white photo on to glossy paper, it would only print green. When I tried on to plain paper using the 'fast' option, it printed in black. The reason for this is, on plain paper it uses the black cartridge, but output to glossy photo paper using the 'high' option, uses the mix of colours in your colour cartridge. If one or more of your colours has run out, you will get a print with the ink left in the cartridge. Replace the cartridge or refill it & your problem is solved.
