Smps has gone

Unless you are electronic technician DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX A SMPS yourself. You can do serious damage to your equipment.
The Best you can do is to replace it with a new one if you are ready to remove more than 50 screws and 50 knobs and remember what goes where in the end. The SMPS uses cable connector so connecting the new spare is easy.

Tv standby

Possible that the mainbaord is faulty, the output driver is short or a high voltage component is short.
Since the model is not specified , you will have to check the mother board for errors as your SMPS is working but check if the secondary fuse has gone off in the high voltage section of the SMPS.

Toshiba Satellite a205 Battery Will Not Charge

You did what all should not have been done. your battery works as a buffer between high surge of electricity which comes through electrical supply i.e. it protects your smps from burning up. From your current position it seems your smps fuse has blown. If they have given one or else your smps itself has gone. I'll tell you for your future usage of battery. Whenever you get any electronic equipment with chargable battery you should never switch it on unless and untill you have charged it for continuous 24 hours. Never try to run such equipment directly through dc or ac power. Hope your fuse has gone its not costly.

My computer doesn't power up. There is power throught the motherboard as my speakers have power. There was power to my mouse but that seems to have gone now. Has been working fine to date but went to turn...

might be that the power supply you have does not have enough wattage or power to power the new graphics card you have. If you insert or install your old graphics card does that allow it to work ?

Also what wattage power supply do you have and what new graphics card did you get, does the new graphics card have a molex on it to allow you to connect an actual power connector to it ( presuming it will be a 5 volts molex connector ) ?

Some graphics cards require extra power hence the molex conncetors.

High pitch noise

Hello there, You have to specify where the noise is coming from. Is it coming from the speaker or from the back of the unit. SMPS power supply powering your unit create this kind of noise when some capacitor gone out of their value.

Good Luck.
