Exterior door stuck closed manually retract ****** remove knobs KWIKSET

You will probably need to replace the latch assembly. There is a small rivet that holds part of the latch together, and it also acts as a pivot point for a small piece that retracts the latch. If it gets bent, the latch won't retract fully, but you might be able to push it back and get the door open.

I have to punch in the code twice to retract the bolt, new batteries installed, no change!

Be sure the bolt is able to move freely. After the first try, does the lock try to move the bolt?
If it behaves like the wrong code was entered, the keypad might be part of the problem.

How to change entry code

First, remove the control cylinder with your "DF59" control key. The cylinder unscrews to remove. Next, turn the knob all the way to the right, and release it.
Step three: Enter the existing code
Step four: Using either the spanner wrench that came with the lock, or a medium-sized flat-tip screwdriver, reach into the hole the control cylinder came out of; and turn the cam inside, about 1/4 turn (as far as it will go), and then back.
Step five: Turn the knob as far as it goes, ONLY ONCE, then release it.
Step six: Enter your new code.
Step seven: Turn the knob (this time, it should retract the latch).

Test it by turning the knob again: The latch should not retract. Now enter your new code and it should retract the latch as you turn the knob. If so, you have successfully changed the code.

How do I change the combination on my Unican 1000 keyless lock? thx john

The door must be open.
On models with the passage feature, make sure the passage feature is disengaged: turn knob or key should be in vertical position (A) (see figure 1).
1. Insert the DF-59 control key (B) into the combination change plug
assembly (
C) and unscrew the cylinder by turning the key
c
ounterclockwise. Remove the combination change plug to gain access to the combination change sleeve (see figure 1).
2. Turn the outside knob/lever once clockwise (all the way, until it stops) then release. The latch should not retract (see figure 4).
3. Enter the existing combination. On new installations, use the factory- set combination: depress 2 and 4 simultaneously, (release), then 3
(r
elease). You should feel a slight click as each button is depressed.
4. Insert the spanner wrench as shown in figure 2 to engage the combina- tion change sleeve (A). Gently turn the spanner wrench clockwise to the stop position (a slight click should be felt), then turn the spanner wrench counter-clockwise to the stop position (A) (see figure 3). Remove the spanner wrench.
5. Turn the outside knob/lever once clockwise all the way until it stops, then release. The latch should not retract (see figure 4).
6. Choose your new combination, write it down, then enter the new combination-depress buttons carefully (a slight click should be felt as each button is depressed).
Note: You can use one button or all five for a combination, but each button can only be used once. You can depress two or more buttons simultaneously as a step in the combination.
7. Turn the outside knob/lever clockwise once, all the way, until it stops, hold in position and make sure the latch is retracted (see figure 5).
R
elease the knob/lever.
Note: If your lock is opening on every turn of the knob or lever, except upon entering a code, this may be a ZERO CODE. Before attempting to remove the lock from the door, refer to the troubleshooting procedures outlined at bottom of this document for a zero code symptom/solution.

Toyota G6 alarm keeps going off for no reason please help

just to let you know i had the same problem with my g6! it went off at 6 in the morning and woke the whole street up!
basicly if ur battery is running low or getting flat the alarm will automaticly go off because it thinks the car is being hot wired! it u press the alarm button one "lock" it will enable interior and exterior of the car, if u press it twice u enable only the exterior of the car, if u are getting this problem arm the exterior of the car by pressing "lock" twice and this will enble it and it shud not go off because its not using any interior sensors.
check ur alarm if its an old style battey "not a maintaince free one" then top up the cells with distilled water only run it about on a good journey and it shud give u a bit more time but my advice change the battery or check ur alternator but the alternator is the last cause.

We are trying to reset a security code for our existing weiser lock and it isn't taking the new code entered.

  1. To program the first code, press the reset button once, then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. This signals that your code has been accepted.
  2. To program the second code, press the reset button twice , then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. This signals that your code has been accepted.
  3. To program the third code, press the reset button 3 time, then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. This signals that your code has been accepted.

It's working in reverse order - I have to put the code in first to lock it, which leaves it ready for someone to break in because all they have to do is press the lock button and it will open. How do I fix...
