Freon (charge) is low. Contact a service man with the proper gauges to check theunit. It will have to be evacuated, nitrogen pressure tested, and then recharged.. Depending on the size of the unit, this cold be about 200-400$.

Brand New 2 weeks old 4 ton Trane compressor leaks a lot of water onto pad

If the unit is running in cold weather than there is ice building up on the coils located outside. This is normal in that the unit is running in heat pump mode heating inside and cooling outside, After the unit detects the ice build up it briefly reverses the cycle heating the outside coils melting(defrosting) the ice which you observe as water on the pad.

The video gives you an example of the defrost cycle!

Do I need a outside cooling unit for a Coleman 7900 Presidential lll gas heat and cooling unit

Yeah, youd have to look at the model on the Indoor coil box, furnace will be setting on top of it. Youll need the model off that coil box to get the correct tonnage of the outdoor condensing unit, you can go 1/2 ton smaller on outdoor for greater efficiency.

Carrier A/C unit not cooling..but freezing refrigerant tube.

if the fan isnt running or you dont get enough return air (on the furnace) the coil will freeze up or if you have it set too low it will freeze up overnight, make sure your filters are clean, and that you dont have any return vents (air sucking in) covered with rugs and whatnot. If you have animals, the coil (on top of the furnace) could be clogged with hair, even though you change your filters it still gets clogged with hair and must be cleaned. if your coil was froze up you need to make sure it is completely thawed out, run the fan in the on setting with the a/c off until you dont see or hear any more water then turn it on again. and finially make sure when the furnace goes off (thermostat clicks and is satisfied) the outdoor condenser goes off as well the contactor could have been stuck in the on position. if you cant fix it call someone who can when your coil freezez up it can cause slugging in your compressor (liquid entering the compressor) which will destroy it !!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Coleman/Evcon Presidential ser# 074878. The plumber says the Heat exchanger is cracked. Is this something I can fix myself or is it less expenxive to buy a new furnace?

The heat exchanger is a bear to change. depending on the age of the unit it might be more practical to replace the unit. However unless you trust this service tech I'd get a second opinion, because it is rare that a heat exchanger will crack, plus by law he or she should have shut the furnace down do to carbonminoxde. Especially rare in Coleman Evcon series units.

Mobile home coleman - evcon furnace model EB23B vandalized. I think what is called the Evaporator coil?? (Copper A shape) was taken from the home. All that remains is the blower. Now...was the copper coil...

What a shame! An a coil runs about $500-$600 and an elec. heater kit about $100 plus labor and if the coils are missing then you Will have to replace refrigerant at $20 per lb.. I would replace the unit for about $1000 and then you'll have warranties on it. Sorry for your misfortune.

We have had a coleman central air system for 5 yrs. It stopped blowing cold air into the house about a week ago. You can still here it running but no air is coming out. my husband replaced the fuses and...

Ice is an indication that the refrigerant is not flashing off correctly in the evaporator coil. In most cases you can simply turn the unit off (until it completely thaws inside and out) and replace the filter. Make sure that all the vents in the house are open as well. If this does not work then you will need a technician to come out and check the refrigerant levels in the system. Ice can indicate that the refrigerant is low. I hope this helps.
