Question about Printers & Copiers

My pixma MP760 does not print photos well. Black is purplish and there are differences in the solidity of the colors (iighter/darker). I've done cleanins and changed the ink and the settings, reinstalled the software and nothing seems to work.

If I've done the required maintenance, I can't see how this 'solution' from Fixya requires payment.

  • mozai3 Jul 07, 2008

The ink cartridges are not the originals.  The printer is 2-3 years old.

Hello,

the printer is really a problems, this could be due to clog-up ink in the printer head or streaky ink, since you have replace a new ink and same happen. However this could be resolve by cleaning the head and need to disassemble the printer.

some cases can be adjust in the test allignment of the printer.

If you are using original carts on the printer, the printer head may be the problem that depends on how old is the printer and how long has it been used?

  • Ekse Jul 07, 2008

I mean are the carts made by canon original canon products, not general cheap carts?

  • Ekse Jul 07, 2008

there are known problems with 3rd party cheap cartridges, you need to use canon originals for the best results.

also.. 2 years it might require some maintenance.

Black ink will not print on Pixma mp760

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

My MP760 just stopped printing all colors except 3eBK. Made nice color prints two days ago. No warns or messages.

I'm not sure if you have solved this or not but try replacing the printhead. I had a similar problem with my MP760 and the IT guy for my office suggested I do this and it worked!

I don't use the color I just bought a black cartridge but it won't print unless I change the color also. Is this true or am I doing something wrong. Or do I have to also but the color cartridge.

This is true. Printer manufactorers just want you to spend money on color cartridges also. And most printers are using the color cartridge to make the print darker,
