my pixma MP760 does not print photos well. Black is purplish and there are differences in the solidity of the colors (iighter/darker). I've done cleanins and changed the ink and the settings, reinstalled the software and nothing seems to work.

If I've done the required maintenance, I can't see how this 'solution' from Fixya requires payment.

The ink cartridges are not the originals. The printer is 2-3 years old.

Are you useing general cartridges on the printer? there can be quality problems if you are not using the original canon carts.

If you are using original carts on the printer, the printer head may be the problem that depends on how old is the printer and how long has it been used?
Comment by Ekse, posted on Jul 07, 2008
I mean are the carts made by canon original canon products, not general cheap carts?

there are known problems with 3rd party cheap cartridges, you need to use canon originals for the best results.

Hello,
the printer is really a problems, this could be due to clog-up ink in the printer head or streaky ink, since you have replace a new ink and same happen. However this could be resolve by cleaning the head and need to disassemble the printer.
some cases can be adjust in the test allignment of the printer.
